Cooking for one, I often have loads of leftovers even though I scale recipes to halves for less. So I will have the same dish for two or three days but then I get really bored with it and need to have something different. I toss a lot of food just because I can't look at it any longer. I used to be able to use up some of my leftovers by giving the appropriate parts to my dogs mixed with their regular food. Both have allergies now that prevent that since they're on prescription foods.

I will never again allow so many leftovers (four large Tupperware-type bowls) to accumulate in the fridge so that when the dispose switch stuck it rendered said disposer inoperable. Bowls were full of the wet gooshy stuff that is impossible to pack up for the garbage can. Had to wait several days for the plumber. In the past I've bagged stuff like this up and frozen it til garbage day but these days there's no freezer room.

I have two of the OXOs (second one was purchased during a kitchen remodel and kept downstairs for opening dog food cans). The OXOs replaced a wall-mount electric can opener that was a real POS that was awful to use. On a whim I once bought a QVC offered opener that was hyped because it took the lids off without leaving sharp edges. It has since left the building.

Yesterday I made my first attempt at No Knead Crusty White Bread in my Bread Baking Pot. It turned out beautifully and I'll post a picture of it after it's sliced. For now, it's bagged up and waiting. So many recipes that I need to try!

I could be interested in the Avance as well; it would depend entirely on how much smoke and or grease it let off. I don't have a hood over my range (nor could I add one) so that is a deal breaker.

I'm assuming (maybe wrongly) that you have a disposer, prevent items from going down the drain with one of these.

This No-Knead Crusty White Bread is next on my list. It's been on my list for some time since the CI No-Knead is one of my favorites. Coming this weekend, if not sooner. I hope you'll try it. PS. I like that it is easily resized to one loaf which works best for me.

This is my first time with this recipe. I made it in a clay bread baking bowl so I could get a nice boule shape. I'm impressed with the flavor and will make it again, it would make good sandwiches as well as nice for toast.

I decided on takeout lunch from Applebee's today since the timing was right; my treatment was to be finished up at approx. 12:30 and the restaurant is right on my way home. I wanted their Grilled Oriental Salad but I also wanted one of the really good hamburgers they make so I ordered both (ordered online). Super convenient since I didn’t even have to go inside, they bring the orders right to the car). Too bad about the hamburger though, it was overdone and dry; the fries would have been okay had they not sat awhile. The salad will be for tomorrow.

It's cold today with lots of snow on the ground. A good day for baking! I came across this recipe for Texas Roadhouse Rolls I've never made these before but the recipe is simple and they sound good to go with my 4 B's Tomato Soup

I’ve been using an X-acto knife, the kind with the snap off blade. I used to have a lame but find this works better.

Okay, you've convinced me. I will definitely make that happen when I use my starter next time. Right now my bread products have filled up my freezers.

Beer with Clamato or preferably Clamato Preparado!!! My favorite way to enjoy beer.

Once I got a (replacement) laundry tub for my birthday. Admittedly it was at my request. It was a bit of a job for the non-handyman husband but it turned out beautifully. The only hitch was getting rid of the decades old tub which was made of concrete. I won't give away his secret since he didn't get caught at it.
