  1. Nothing quite so good a fresh raisin bread toasted and buttered.
  2. Where will you be headed? Do you know yet?
  3. I love soup too. The only thing I don’t like is any that has barley in it, although it's not necessarily a deal breaker; I just don’t like the texture of it.
  4. Much I LOVE potatoes I always replace them with a home-made pie crust on shepherd's pie. I just think it's very much better.
  5. I love soup! I'm craving the Italian Sausage, Potato and Kale soup that is just about my all-time favorite. Recipe here.
  6. I cleaned out my freezer in the side by side a couple of months ago. I filled a bag that was so heavy I could barely lift it and yet it is still full. I still have two upright freezers that are also over-filled. That's a much bigger job that's long overdue. One day I hope to be inspired to tackle that job.
  7. I really like Ina Garten's recipe for Roasted Tomato Basil Soup
  8. Actually, when we moved here our new house had no deadbolts. My husband insisted that we have them installed. I asked the locksmith why no-one had deadbolts. He said it was because everyone owns guns!
  9. I do not. I am opposed to guns even though everyone else here seems to own several.
  10. Apparently not. I'm sure their very helpful staff would have offered.
  11. My state liquor store no longer stocks Wild Turkey Rye...I don't know why. I was disappointed because I always used it in my hot winter drinks.
  12. Since I’ve been making smaller bread recipes these last 10 years or so, I've been using my Zo bread machine for the mixing and kneading. It's perfect for that and the cleanup is almost nothing.
  13. You just need a cat.

Actually I bought that juicer because I watched Ms Garten use it. And, yes, it is quite noisy but very efficient and space saving. I also have the big-ass Breville juicer which is very nice but a space hog. I use my little Braun most of the time since it stores so easily. BTW, that Braun was dirt cheap but I don't think it's available any longer.
  15. I can see that the 7500 would be useful for someone who uses a lot of plastic wrap. Ina Garten, for example, has a roll of commercial plastic wrap the size of a small car. But she also has a massive kitchen and a huge pantry. For my purposes, if it won't fit in a drawer it's not coming in to my kitchen.
  16. Agreed.
  17. It looks very good.
  18. A hair appointment took me to my next-town-over salon which is cleverly located next door to the McDonalds. One of the stylist was sharing her chicken nuggets with her sweet little dog who comes to work with her. By the time I left the dog was sound asleep in her bed with a full belly. I stopped for my favorite which is a chicken sandwich with fries.
  19. I've been using Paprika as a supplement and backup to my LC-15. It's okay in many ways except for the printing options. I use mine on my PCs, and my Ipad Pro. Printing is only acceptable on the tablet, and I have no reason why it doesn't work well on my PCs....the print is way too small and I can't find a way to change it. On another note, I have heard a rumor that there is a new version of LC in the works for release some time in 2019....Again, it's just a rumor and I'm not holding my breath.
  20. I checked again today at Walmart.com. My saved list contains 21 items; only 6 are in stock. This has been the case since August. What's wrong here?
  21. @CarsonWyler Good luck with your search. Personally, I think you’re whistling Dixie.
  22. This is a very old thread. Yesterday I wanted to make a very simple recipe for scalloped potatoes that uses Cream of Mushroom Soup. I had a couple cans in the pantry, one of which was a regional brand. When I opened the can the contents were a rather dark, odd color. As it often happens, I couldn't read the expiration date on the bottom of the can. It smelled fine, just looked a bit funny. Anyway, I used the soup and the resulting potatoes were really excellent. I will definitely use that recipe again, most likely with a fresher can of soup.
  23. Is it larger than standard dinner fork size?
  24. The very nice Mexican man who does my landscape maintenance brought me about a dozen tamales made by his wife. The were very very good and enough to sock some in the freezer for another day.
  25. So nice! Congratulations!!
