Well yes I was watching breakfast TV, when I really should have been at work, but anyway, there I was cuppa in hand watching Jason Atherton from Maze extoling the delights of his £100 white truffle pizza, to be eaten whilst sipping champagne before sitting down to dinner :raz:

Sigh

Must get down to writing that best selling novel, or researching some long lost (very rich) relatives.

How about selling a £100 pizza for a bit of PR! Then maybe you can sell your book.

This is a typically brilliant bit of pr nonsense by Ramsay. He had the cheek to say that he doesn't make any money on the dish! Its not quite as bad as it looks however as the pizza is meant to be shared by six people.

Come on chaps, this is just horrendous "work of the devil" PR at it's worst.

Wasn't there a £100 Burger earlier this year as well, aimed at getting some cheap publicity?

What next? A £100 Truffled Black Pudding rolled on the thighs of a nubile virgin.

£16 a slice, if the truffles are good it could be worth it.

I'd rather eat The White Truffle Spaghetti that Philip Howard makes!

Now I can tell you that was worth it but then he didn't serve it in 6 portions just the 1! I can taste it as I write this followed by a Mixed Fish Grill with basil and Cous-Cous(Mmmm!) now I'm going back a bit!

I'll guarantee that Phil Howard wasn't charging £16 for White Truffle Pasta. In Italy last year I was fortunate enough to have a bespoke White truffle menu, 4 truffle courses and desert for just €120, if only that were possible in London

It wasn't far off it think it was £16/£18 I know the main course was about £4 more all I really remember is with the main course and wine think it was a Premier Cru Chablis total bill was £80. Didn't get to sweet nothing jumped out and I was on the way through London. I stopped concerning myself with how much it cost, just took the enjoyment away if I couldn't afford what ever I want, I dont go. This was the meal that taught me that, there's places to watch your pennies and others not to care.

As for yours I wish not even a comparison!

It may not surprise you, but I for one would gladly pay 100 quid for a truffled black pudding rolled the thighs of a nubile virgin.

But maybe that's just me.

It was so rich & truffley i feel you would die if attempted alone....!

Rayner downed his in two bites apparently...

That's a defamation of my good character. It was at least ten minutes, though there was a certain amount of staring wistfully out of windows. I mean, Jesus - it was only the one truffle.
