hi all

i had a quick look and don't seem to be able to find a thread about recommended places to buy cooking equipment.

So sure you will find this all very useful let start a list of where to buy kitchen stuff specifically for UK but if you got links to worldwide places that deliver to the uk bung them in too :wink:

We should have both consumer outlets and trade outlets that deal with consumers

and a short description.

let me start the list

Denton's Catering Equipment, on the Clapham Road. Good prices, and the people "upstairs" will help you with professional equipment (stoves, fridges, etc.) if you're interested in that kind of thing. Some very good special offers from time to time, e.g. glass bowls at two for £1. Decent prices on knives.

A lot of people may disagree but I still like Nisbets. It's better if you've got a big order so that you get free delivery and discounts start when you reach the £90 mark. They often have specials which I find hard to beat. Good prices on Black Iron pans which everybody should have :raz: I find it easier to order the brochure than to browse on the net where they don't seem to have quite as much stuff although this may just be an illusion.

I am heading up to London for a few days later this month and am on the prowl for a good shop or professional kitchen outfitter where I can find utensils, tools, etc.

I would prefer a restaurant supply shop, but if anyone knows of a home kitchen shop, I would happily browse through the aisles there too.

I am looking for stuff that I might not necessarily find here in Barcelona.

For example, I am in dire need of a professional "egg topper" such as this one, or this one.

Any suggestions?

on the basis of using mail order - then I find Lakeland Plastics are useful for baking stuff - and random kitchen drawer gadgets

Have also heard good stuff about the David Mellor shops (try this link) - but largely coz I think you can still get le pentole stock there!!

(edited to take out unhelpful non London info)
