Not that I know of. I've bugged a Gujarati friend of mine to get his family to start one, but to no avail.

Best bet is to venture north towards Edison NJ.

I was just in Edison/Iselin, NJ this past weekend. Words cannot describe the place, you pretty much have to just make the trip and explorer. I'm pretty sure it is the if not one of the largest Indian/Pak areas on the East Coast. My wife and I went to Moghul express for a Chicken Dosa and Kheema Dosa. Tremendous. You'll probably find Gujarati somewhere in this area of NJ.

Main Line Jewel of India on Lancaster Ave in Ardmore focuses on South Indian food, though not specifically Gujarati. They have excellent, excellent dosas, among many other delicious items. It's BYO.

Is Main Line Jewel of India the one near Subway, Manhattan Bagels, etc.? If so, I think it recently closed...I could be mistaken though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like a stop on Oak Tree Road is in order nexst time I'm in the Iselin-Menlo Park area, which is a couple of times a year.

As info, Gujarati is not South Indian. The state of Gujarat is basically on NW side of Indian, near Pakistan. It's South Asia, but not South India.

There were Indian restaurants on both sides of the street there -- Jewel of India is/was on the north side and another (most recently called Nirvana, I think) was on the south side. The south-side-of-the-street place has closed and reopened a few times recently. I haven't been to Jewel of India in about a month, but who knows, maybe they closed, too. I hope not.

And as for calling Gujarat South India, I plead insanity.

If by Guju food you mean that you crave for Farsand style food - dhokla etc. then Dimple (30th between Bwy&5th) in Manhattan is your best bet. While you are at it you can also chat up in Guju wit hAunty behind the counter too
