Great salad ideas for our maybe summer. I watched Mark Wiens the other day showing a pile of the stinky beans next to his plate in Thailamd- they had been roasted and  had a light char. Have you had them like that?

@shainI'm curious about the shrimp dish. It looks like a stir fry rather than a curry. I know it's ridiculous to go by looks but it almost looks like a tamarind sauce. Do you remember anything more about it?

Nope, only this once. They were stir fried. Not really stinky by the way.

Pickled clams sound interesting.

I think those might have actually been cockles. I can't remember for sure, and in my notes in Hebrew, the difference is lost to translation.

Anyway, pickled mussels and clams are lovely. I really like the Greek style, with good vinegar, garlic, some spices.

Curry is often a bad / imprecise term. It was stir fried, might have contained tamarind but wasn't particularly acidic - more spicy and sweet.  It surely contained a spice paste of sorts.

A visit to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and King's Palace. A small upside of the pandemic at the time was that there were really only a few people, which was pleasant when strolling around and admiring the structures, art and detailed murals.

After a visit to the temple, we had some time before the dance show that is included in the ticket.

We went to a nearby dried fish market, a very small, smelly and interseting market. Definitely not one that sees many tourists.

Very tasty stir fried woodear with eggs, chili, herbs.
Mushrooms in dryish green curry with eggplant and deliciously crispy coconut shoot.
Yellow curry young lotus with prawns. Too acidic-sweet (which is not a flavor combination I like that much, too ketchup like).
