Hello Everyone. My family moved to Winnipeg back in the late 70's. Our stay was short however the memories we share are some of the best years of our lives.

Does anyone remember the original Pony Corral restaurant located at 1919 Pembina hwy? Loved their golden boy hamburger with an order of fries and a chocolate shake.

The Pony Corral looks vaguely familiar but I don't really remember it.

What came immediately to mind for me from my childhood was the Paddlewheel Restaurant in the Hudson Bay Company Store and it's lemon meringue pie.

Looks windy.

Oh yeah. In winter you walk into the wind by facing backwards so you don't freeze your face.

Hello @Snoopy15. When were those photos taken; is that car from the 50s?

Hope you enjoy yourself here on eGullet; there are some very fine members. Welcome!

The original Pony Corral sat overlooking what is now Bishop Grandin Boulevard. It burned down and moved south on Pembina Highway to Fort Richmond, but is now gone from there too.
