Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )
ElsieD replied to a topic in Pastry & Baking
I made a Blueberry Coffee Cake yesterday and we had some this morning with our tea/coffee. We both found it too "wet" although it tested clean with a toothpick. After the suggested baking time it needed more time in the oven and it tested clean after I baked it longer. The recipe called for melted butter to be mixed in with sugar. I thought that odd as I am used to creaming butter with sugar for cakes. Could using melted butter rather than creamed be the culprit here? What happens if I make this again using the creaming vs the melting process for the butter? The taste was great so I'd like to make it again. -
I was hoping it could go to 150F which is what I used to use for smoking bacon.

@rotuts what is the lowest temperature it can be set to?

As one who reviews items for Amazon, wouldn't it be nice if they sent you one?
-
$923.71 Cdn. On Amazon.ca

@rotuts did any smoke smell leak into the kitchen?

I didn't realize your boxes were three quarts. Ours are 4,000 ml or just over 4 quarts. Tax on booze is high here.

A box of pinot grigio here will set you back an average of $45.00. That's Cdn $, but still....

Zeus is decidedly not a lap cat as in he sits on no one's lap. He is, however, a night cuddler and when I go to bed, he sleeps cuddled up next to me, sometimes as high up as next to my face. When that happens, I invariably wake up with a cat hair or two on my lips of all places. Not sure how they get there, but there they are.

I trust that was one of yours?

If you move the paddle latch in the direction indicated on the lid, the blade comes right out for cleaning. After cleaning the blade and lid, move the paddle latch in the same direction and the blade locks back in.

They look good. What are they stuffed with?

I too use the stems but if the ends are tough I cut those off.

I don't know. I did find that it was available in Australia and Malaysia.

@rotutsThanks! I haven't had an enabling compliment it seems like forever. Maybe try an appliance store?
