    Dinner 2020

In non-pandemic times I probably wouldn't subject you to this picture, but if you're like me, you'll take all the food pictures you can get 🤣 Picked up a very cheap package of basic turkey lunchmeat because I've been craving a sandwich. I've had a few slices of some excellent salami vac packed in the fridge so made a sandwich out of that on some marbled rye bread that I also bought yesterday because ....I don't know...pandemic buying??? You'll notice the reduction in my appetite. I'm down to 3 fries.
  2. Soooooooo, when is the next pasta making adventure 😁 I think it looks heavenly. For what it's worth, I don't use the pasta cutter in my machine either. Much easier to cut it by hand. I call it "rustic". Oh and also, Ronnie does not care for béchamel sauce at all. I made lasagna once and spent like the whole day on it--which included the béchamel. He begged me never to make it that way again lol.
  3. I'm back from the battle of shopping. It truly does feel like a battle. I'm exhausted. I have a homemade "mask". It covers from the bridge of my nose clear down my neck. It's not medical grade or anything, but I figure it does some good. It was hot as hell though. Store was packed. Looooong lines. Only 2 checkouts open. Most people wearing some kind of mask. All of us did well at spacing except I guess I did too well. I was so far back from the person in front of me that a guy with a full cart cut in. Sigh. People. Got everything except still no yeast to be found. No sanitizer --or any of those type of things still. I had toyed with buying some TP if it was well stocked. It definitely wasn't at all so I passed. We are still ok for now. The produce section was full which was nice. I got some strawberries that sort of smell like strawberries. Oh and I was able to get a whole chicken. AND SWIFFER PADS. Glory be. I was excited. I'm off to take a shower and change clothes and maybe a nap.

    Dinner 2020

@Kim Shook Ohhhhh your cannelloni looks incredible. Want want want. Yeah, I get a stovetop stuffing crave every now and then. Good stuff. After seeing @Smithy's tacos from the other night, I had to have them too. My shells were a bit stale but a bit in the oven made that all go away Venison tacos, RG beans and rotel cheese dip
  5. He did go down to the river with the dogs.... *note to self: check for a banana tree down there
  6. You were right! I humbly apologize

    Dinner 2020

@Kim Shook I literally drooled. I need that tamale pie. Going to dig and see if I have any canned tamales, if not, they are going on the list. I have to go sometime this week to get Ronnie's meds so might as will grab a few things at the store since I'm in there. Blurry venison chili over spaghetti with some corn bread. Bread looks white because I was too lazy to find my yellow cornmeal and the bag of white fell out of the cabinet first. A little tomato/canned artichoke heart/kalamata olive salad with lemon chicken, stuffing and bruss. sprouts Last night another salad and pepperoni and mushroom pizza
  8. So, every day I walk by that bunch of green "plantains" and think "Ok. Tomorrow I will be creative and make something wonderful with these." And then the next day comes and I think the same thing. My brain just doesn't want to deal with something new I guess. Anyway. Yesterday I was out in the garden and Ronnie scampered up to me (yep he scampered) and told me that I and all of EG owe him an apology. I rolled my eyes and said "For What???" Yes, friends. He was right. They are freaking bananas. 🤣 Took 7 years to turn yellow, but yes. Bananas. So, I apologized for all of us and made him a layered chocolate pudding/banana/Nilla Wafer/whipped cream thing 🤷‍♀️
  9. @ElsieD I don't know how I missed this since December. I think even your latest ones look delicious. I bought a cannele pan years ago and have never been brave enough to try it.

Found a package of doves from the fall in the freezer. Was going to grill them outside but it was like 26 degrees so steam boy to the rescue.

Mortadella (the last of it ) and salami on sour dough
  18. @Kim Shook I'm glad you finally opened the box When I remember to order it, I love this blend from King Arthur Flour. I use the recipe on the back of the bag. It's something like 3 cups of the flour, 4 eggs and a couple TB of water if needed to help the dough come together. I do it in my stand mixer. I realize in this time that 4 eggs is a lot. I've cut the recipe in half before and it's worked fine. However, when I make the whole batch, I only use about a 3rd of the dough for a meal for 2 of us and I can get at least 3 meals out of one batch. I keep the remaining dough in the fridge tightly wrapped in saran or sometimes I vac pac it. Keeps for a week. Regarding the pasta flour above. As of right now it's in stock, limit of 2 per order.
  19. Incredibly jealous. Really wish something like this was available around here.

More drunken noodles and the very last of the pork belly that I have
  21. Just went out and told Ronnie about it. Going to lay out a couple goose breasts and try it
  22. Oh wow! Definitely a great idea. Thanks!
  23. I don't know. He didn't know the end of the story.
  24. Flour, eggs, salt, potatoes, olive oil
  25. A friend of ours was telling Ronnie over the phone that he was in Walmart and witnessed a woman with a heaping huge cart full of fresh meats, TP etc. She was in the return line. He overheard her say that she panicked and bought all of that stuff, got home and realized she wouldn't be able to pay her rent, so she came back to return it all. I'm back, and sanitized and washed. Went to a middle sized town grocery store (Dillon's). Hardly any people. Signs every where reminding people to distance themselves. Markings on the floor on where to stand in line. People stood even further back than the markers said to. Meat, cheese and veg supply (fresh) was normal. Hardly any flour-limited to buying one bag per cart. I couldn't find yeast. There were limits on TP eggs and cleaning supplies none of which I bought. I didn't see any TP available. No bleach. Cleaning products way low or none. Liquor store had my flavor of wine and Ronnie's flavor of vodka so all is right with the world lol.
