I feel like less of a weirdo now lol. I put two clorox wipes in a ziplock yesterday and today. Grocery store is out of their wipes that they usually have right by the carts.

I'm back. I called the pharmacy inside the grocery store about 9:30 this morning to make sure the prescriptions were ready. A friend answered the phone so I asked her if it was as bad in there this morning as it was yesterday. She said at the moment it wasn't, but that it comes in waves. It was busy, but not tooooooo awful. Got the meds. Grabbed a cart. Ronnie is almost out of his bottled water so he wanted a case of that --it's something we always have. I forgot to order carrots yesterday so I wanted to pick some up 'cause I want to make a stew. They were OUT OF CARROTS. What the hell??? Who bought all the damn carrots. Sigh. I found some ridiculously priced tiny baby gourmet carrots and bought a tiny pack that won't be enough for stew, but I have to have carrots in stew. Anyway. I also got some bananas --Thursday is banana day 15 cents a lb. And some strawberries. Ronnie wanted some saltine crackers. Totally out of all except the crappy Always Save brand. I hope they don't suck. Same for graham crackers. And, guess what? Not ONE PACK OF RAMEN NOODLES. The aisle was ravaged. Empty cardboard boxes tossed around. Surreal. Only a few jars of spaghetti sauce. Canned goods very low. Couldn't get to the meat section. Too many people. Anyway, I'm home. Will need to make a liquor store run at some point but for now, I'm hunkered down. Heading for a nap. Or a glass of wine. Or both.

Oh, thank you. I don't want to come off as whiney. I'm just so not used to crowds. And, yes, I need to up my New Yorker big time. I'm pretty timid. Maybe I should record you saying that and I could play it on my phone lol.

May have to start liking hard liquor more. Major jealous of the delivery.

I'm home and fresh out of a vat of bleach. Holy crap you guys. I've never seen anything like I saw today. Showed up at the grocery store at 3 this afternoon like they emailed me to do. I got the items that I ordered, some in smaller quantities. I ordered 2 whole chickens. Got one. Ordered 9 limes. Got 3. Ordered 50 lb bag of dog food. Got 3 15 lb bags (super grateful). Everything else was as ordered. A V8 juice, 2 heads of lettuce, bag of baby spinach. YAY I got the eggs. 2 cans of spinach. 1 package of fresh mushrooms. 2 cans of mushrooms ( I know but they are ok on pizza). The curbside buying is not curbside at this smaller store. You go in, try to find someone who knows anything about your order and then they try to find your cart. Sigh. Literally stood there for 10 mins. in the midst of chaos. The parking lot is huge at this store because it's in a little strip mall type place. Every. Single. Spot. Was. Full. Ronnie had to drive around and just keep an eye out for me. People had 2 and 3 carts full of food trying to haul them all around. Definitely had not heard about social spacing and the 6' rule. Coughing. Elderly people, bless them. Kids. Sigh. More coughing. I had also called in 3 of Ronnie's prescriptions and was assured they would be done. As luck would have it, we were out of refills. Sigh. After I got home nurse called and renewed without him having to go in and get checked....thank goodness. But, I have to go back tomorrow . Help me. I firmly believe that if one is in the pharmacy line, YOU STAND BACK. Even before this. Guy behind me, I swear I could feel him breathing on me. I was going to peek at the TP isle to see what was there. I'd have had to had an army to even get close. I cannot imagine bigger cities right now. Oh and we did stop at a small farm supply store--DOG FOOD. I feel better. No, I didn't buy it all They had a lot. Eyed the baby chicks....wish I could keep them alive here for eggs. Wouldn't work. I've been thinking....smaller type stores like where I found our dog food might be the way to go. Even craft stores sometimes sell odd items that you wouldn't think of. Skipped the liquor store. That's how exhausting this was. Pouring wine now.

Hoarding begats hoarding. I'm buying allllllll the dog food. Just kidding

I hope you're right. I really really hope the store really has some today. Or my doggies will be eating canned dog food and I will be cleaning up poo lol.

Yes. Sold out.

Agreed. Looking at our normal threads with pictures here lets me sink into a normal feeling--even if it's just for a bit, it's much needed.

Well, this mornings job was to find dog food. Who knew all dog food would sell out. Sigh. I had some on order from Amazon. I was relived yesterday when I got notification that it had shipped. Sometime in the middle of the night I got another email saying the packaging had been damaged and they were not sending it. Not sure I believe that but ok. Ronnie is in the high risk category. Even if we wasn't we decided to for sure do our part and hunker down. Grocery delivery is not an option where we live. I tried all morning to make an online account with Dillon's so I could order groceries (including dog food) to be picked up curbside. The website is over whelmed and I couldn't make an account. Plan C. I made an account at a smaller store in a different town and ordered curbside pick up. I doubt they will have all of the things I ordered--because they say they have my dog food, I also ordered some lettuce etc. , but I did get a confirmation just now that I could pick my order up at 3 this afternoon. I have a friend --my cleaning angel and also she supplies me with eggs. We trade--I give her garden goodies and stuff Ronnie has gotten. Her chickens stopped laying a while back. Her mom went out a couple days ago to find eggs at the store. She went to like 5 different stores. No eggs. Called the liquor store. They have some of my wine. So will stop there and then attempt to pick up my grocery order. Times are very strange right now. Edited to say I ordered 2 cartons of eggs. If I get any I'll drop them off for my cleaning angel. Keep your fingers crossed.

Got the lasagna pan that @JoNorvelleWalker and @rotuts and others were talking about and I've been wanting to use it. Had some homemade pasta dough in the fridge so I did a venison lasagna last night. Pan worked perfect. I really like the size.

Nothing is in stock on Amazon.

I just went to the RG website. Eight different varieties of bean are sold out. Still showed 23 varieties for sale. I hope they still ship our club orders. When is our next one due? Beg. of April?

I think next time I'll used either smoked oysters or smoke my frozen ones......the hint of bacon was good but it needed more. Maybe just add more bacon....hmmm...
-
More ravioli ......this time I mixed a bit of strained cottage cheese (Ronnie doesn't like ricotta unless it's homemade) with some parm. cheese and diced crisp bacon and some blanched, diced spinach. Topped with an oyster in most and egg yolk--one a piece Usual salad Kinda like a different version of oysters rockefeller
