  1. Well, this mornings job was to find dog food. Who knew all dog food would sell out. Sigh. I had some on order from Amazon. I was relived yesterday when I got notification that it had shipped. Sometime in the middle of the night I got another email saying the packaging had been damaged and they were not sending it. Not sure I believe that but ok. Ronnie is in the high risk category. Even if we wasn't we decided to for sure do our part and hunker down. Grocery delivery is not an option where we live. I tried all morning to make an online account with Dillon's so I could order groceries (including dog food) to be picked up curbside. The website is over whelmed and I couldn't make an account. Plan C. I made an account at a smaller store in a different town and ordered curbside pick up. I doubt they will have all of the things I ordered--because they say they have my dog food, I also ordered some lettuce etc. , but I did get a confirmation just now that I could pick my order up at 3 this afternoon. I have a friend --my cleaning angel and also she supplies me with eggs. We trade--I give her garden goodies and stuff Ronnie has gotten. Her chickens stopped laying a while back. Her mom went out a couple days ago to find eggs at the store. She went to like 5 different stores. No eggs. Called the liquor store. They have some of my wine. So will stop there and then attempt to pick up my grocery order. Times are very strange right now. Edited to say I ordered 2 cartons of eggs. If I get any I'll drop them off for my cleaning angel. Keep your fingers crossed.

    Dinner 2020

Got the lasagna pan that @JoNorvelleWalker and @rotuts and others were talking about and I've been wanting to use it. Had some homemade pasta dough in the fridge so I did a venison lasagna last night. Pan worked perfect. I really like the size.
  3. Nothing is in stock on Amazon.
  4. I just went to the RG website. Eight different varieties of bean are sold out. Still showed 23 varieties for sale. I hope they still ship our club orders. When is our next one due? Beg. of April?

I think next time I'll used either smoked oysters or smoke my frozen ones......the hint of bacon was good but it needed more. Maybe just add more bacon....hmmm...

  14. LOL what happened to my follow-up? I even went back through my phone and I have no pictures of my finished tongue. Did I screw it up? I have absolutely no memory of what happened lol. Sigh. So, I'll re-boot. Thawed out a couple of beef tongues and a beef roast about 3 weeks ago, peeled the tongues and put them all in a brine of pickling spices and Morton's Tender Quick. Took every thing out early last week and vac packed. After brining Decided to keep a tongue out and make corned beef tongue sandwiches last night. Used the Instant Pot. Put the tongue in, filled pot up with water until it was about an inch over the tongue. Added a TB or so of more pickling spice. 90 mins. on High. Natural release. Very very good. I was waffling between doing the tongue this way or SV'ing. Glad I chose the IP. TENDER. Honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten.

  16. Yeah Zingerman's! I've ordered a lot from them. Thanks for the pictures--I've always wondered what the store looks like. Kerry, I don't know how you do it all. You have the energy of Scout (my new puppy). Her batteries never run out!

Ran across a new (to us) recipe that I had to try-Brazilian Cheese Bread. There are several different ways to make it, but, this looked like the easiest. Reminded me a tiny bit of popovers only they were "chewier". We liked them and gluten-free folks might want to try, too. Ate them with the homemade pasta and oxtail ragu that seems to be never ending. I keep freezing the ragu and then I can't get my mind off of it and I have to eat it again.
  22. Pretty well actually. If I was doing a ton of meat, not so much, but I didn't want to get the huge slicer down and slicing with a knife wasn't working at all lol.
  23. Made muffuletta bread in the CSO--turned out ok. Needed more salt. I am one that thinks all baked goods usually need more salt though. All the meats Forgot to picture the cheese but I used fresh mozzarella and munster and of course Boscoli olive salad My mom sent me these cake pans along with a recipe for "little cake and frosting". Perfect fit for 2 in the CSO or one in the Instant Pot. A normal sized cake is always too much for us so this size works great. Cake decorating is not my forte lol. But it tastes good.
