Yes, we have two. One is really old and it hates me. We recently got a new one that is much more friendly. We'll have to drag it out there on a trailer.

I keep saying I need to snip the flowers, I always do in the garden....but they ARE so pretty lol. I suspect you're right about the roots. I need to get a bigger pot but then it wouldn't fit in the window and that presents a whole 'nother problem with Newman wanting to eat the plant lol.

A tiny update..... We had a HUGE day of winds--and when a Kansas person says it's windy, it's windy. It was around the 15 of December. Winds steady at 50 gusting from 80 to 100 mph some places. Ronnie went out to our property and found this: Blew the new deer stand right over. And it was anchored very securely. Not securely enough obviously. I forbade him from trying to set it upright by himself so we have some work to do at some point. Yay. Sigh.

This looks delicious and cheesy. OMG one of my favorites. How many years have I said this around here???? But someday I'm going to get a real truffle I don't care how expensive it is lol. Decided to not get back on the low carb wagon for a few more days. I HAD to have spaghetti and venison meatballs--had some balls leftover from when our friend was here that I froze. Also did some Italian sausage links and salad. There is pasta under the mountain of basil. My grocery store turned kitchen basil plant is still going strong. I had to stake it up yesterday it's gotten so tall. I'm adhering to @KennethT's instructions and watering it --2 cups of water every day (that's all it will hold without overflowing) but the leaves still look wilty. Tastes delicious though..... Drug my very unused air fryer out and did some Cornish game hens the next night (that was more on the low carb plan that we should be doing). Cheesy cauliflower and deviled eggs to go with. I felt a little......bad...disturbing the hens....they looked so......er....comfortable? Pizza and salad the next night--I mean I had dough in the freezer and sauce and meats to use up so yeah.....and another salad Last night the last of the venison pounder steaks with fake cauliflower mashed potatoes, carb free gravy ( I don't know why I keep trying this...Ronnie doesn't love it) and green bean casserole.

Gives new meaning to sleeping with the fishes...... Not that I know anything about any of this but that surprises me. -
A week in Komodo (Indonesia) - Take 1

I wonder if anyone here in the states makes this? Oh that's just awful Just curious...are the trees without leaves dead or? Seems odd to just leave them if they're dead...... This made me drool. I can't get the picture to post but the cute little "bowl" on her plate is for a dipping sauce or? LOVING this. I'm having a vacation in my kitchen and I don't even have to shower or take a plane -
Happy Birthday @Maison Rustique!! I'm superstitious too, @Norm Matthews. The last few months of 2025 were a lot but I know it could have been worse so why not do all we can for luck lol. I did ham steak with mustard sauce, Hoppin John --used Super Lucky 2026 Rancho Gordo BEP's, deviled eggs and cheesy brussels sprouts (I figure those count for cabbages/money)

Patti, you did so great! I'm sitting here wishing I had a big plate with everything on it. I don't ever soak black eyed peas, either.

Splurged on some lobster tails. Thanks to @weinoo @KennethT@gfweb @rotuts and everyone else that helped me on the SV thread! They turned out perfectly. Also splurged on some Wellfleet Oysters (always makes me think of @liamsaunt) Cheesy potatoes and roasted asparagus Ronnie didn't get any apple galette on Christmas Eve so I made another one for dessert Happy New Year everyone!!

We are broccoli lovers, too. I love it raw on salads. And, like you said both of those sauces are delicious --especially the cheese
-
🤣 You won't like it. It's mostly broccoli 🤣 Dressing: Mix: 1 cup mayo (I like Hellman's) 4 TB red wine vinegar 3 TB sugar Salt Pepper ---I honestly don't measure. Some days I like more dressing, some days I don't . Broccoli--stems cut off and cut small enough to eat--Probably 5-6 cups? Shredded sharp cheddar Crispy bacon broken into bite size pieces Chopped onion--I like red the best but white or yellow are fine too. Mix all together. If not eating right away I add the bacon just before serving or else it gets less crispy Optional: Salted sunflower seeds Craisins or raisins

This looks very good. I'mma gonna have to find this and make it!

🤣 As an only child that gets overwhelmed when more than three people are in the room, I would need a lot of wine lol or something stronger

I think it all looks AMAZING. I'd definitely dive into all of that.

This is an extraordinary amount of talent and work! Anyone who is getting these beautiful cookies is a very lucky person! And, yes, WOW. I would so love to dive into a bowl of that soup. You did amazing!

😳I've never heard of this site! This could be dangerous for me

Shrimp cocktail sounds so good right now. However, my mom and I just had a huge talk last night about Die Hard --and it is NOT (my opinion) a Christmas movie. My mom adamantly says Die Hard IS a Christmas movie. Yippee-Ki-Yay 😆

I'm exhausted just reading this. I don't know how you do it all.

Beautiful kitchen! UGH I'm so sorry. I hope you guys get better asap. (((hugs))) Oh those prawns!!!! Be safe! I hope it isn't as foggy over there as it is over here. It's been pea soup every day until about 11 in the morning for 3 days. Merry Christmas!!!!! Phew. Yesterday was a big day. I think it all went well and everyone had fun. I managed to remember to take a few pictures but when everyone showed up it got too busy. I made an apple galette and a cherry galette The usual chocolate crinkle cookies and sugar sprinkle cookies GF brownies I bought GF macarons And GF whoopie pies Made the usual broccoli salad (one of Ronnie's daughters loves this stuff) I made a little Bloody Mary station on the left but no one partook. Ronnie and I and one daughter did put a hurt on a couple of bottles of champagne and orange juice for mimosas. GF crackers, regular crackers and snacky stuff I made both GF sausage gravy and regular. I honestly couldn't tell the difference so I think next year I'll just make one big batch of GF. GF biscuits I also made regular (pillsbury grands) In case you need to see what 24 eggs look like getting ready to get scrambled lol Not pictured, the finished cheesy scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes, bacon and sausages that Ronnie cooked in the garage thankfully because I didn't have room to get it all done in here. I was pooped but managed to heat up the cioppino for Christmas Eve dinner--I was going to toast some of my bread to go with but nah lol. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Day! I have a prime rib resting in the fridge. I don't know what I'm going to make for sides but something will occur to me I'm sure. Otherwise I hope to be veeeeery lazy today.

Patti--I seem to be picking on you lately--🤣. I just am loving all the low carb meals you're making. Is that bacon sprinkled on the shrimp or?
