I know right??!! Spam! I couldn't believe it.

I just placed my very first curbside (or maybe I have to go in, I dunno) pickup order from Sam's. Supposedly it will be ready tomorrow and they will send me a text. I'm hopefully getting a whole chicken, chicken wings, tomatoes, lettuce, butter, 18 pack of eggs, a wedge of parm cheese and a bag of limes. We will see. Unavailable: Clorox wipes Toilet paper Spam Yeast Sigh. Edited to say I would have gone in and shopped myself, but we took me off the Sam's card years ago ...really regretting that now because Ronnie is in the high risk category and I'm keeping him out of public places during this. My friend's husband went Friday night and he scored some Clorox wipes.

Extremely non-traditional Easter dinner. Corned beef. Also, the wine isn't probably named appropriately for Easter, but it was good........
-
Maybe some kind of citrus would brighten it up?
-
No no! No need to be sorry! I think it was a brilliant idea! I love people that think outside the box. I appreciate you trying to help

THIS. IS. AMAZING. You made so many people happy. Thank you.

We're having St. Patrick's for Easter. Corned beef and all the traditional sides.

I looked back in my SV notebook. We cold smoked pork ribs for a few hours and then I SV'd them at 170F for 4 hours and then reduced the temp to 160F for 1 hour so a total of 5 hours. I must have liked them because I don't write things down in my book if they fail. I'm sure I probably basted them with BBQ sauce and broiled them in the oven to finish. So, I don't see why you couldn't freeze them before that step.

Now I want salmon and bagels. Caesar salad and beef steak that Ronnie did outside on the grill. He did a good job

😳 Who knew???? I never would have thought of this. Thank you! I won't tell a soul.

You are the best! Thank you so much for your kindness. I still have some so I'm good for now. Surely by the time I run out the stores will have some. Or, I'll just make crackers lol.

I was just going to say this. I loved reading and seeing what PJ was having that day. I always thought it was so cool that Steven did that for him.

In non-pandemic times I probably wouldn't subject you to this picture, but if you're like me, you'll take all the food pictures you can get 🤣 Picked up a very cheap package of basic turkey lunchmeat because I've been craving a sandwich. I've had a few slices of some excellent salami vac packed in the fridge so made a sandwich out of that on some marbled rye bread that I also bought yesterday because ....I don't know...pandemic buying??? You'll notice the reduction in my appetite. I'm down to 3 fries.

Soooooooo, when is the next pasta making adventure 😁 I think it looks heavenly. For what it's worth, I don't use the pasta cutter in my machine either. Much easier to cut it by hand. I call it "rustic". Oh and also, Ronnie does not care for béchamel sauce at all. I made lasagna once and spent like the whole day on it--which included the béchamel. He begged me never to make it that way again lol.

I'm back from the battle of shopping. It truly does feel like a battle. I'm exhausted. I have a homemade "mask". It covers from the bridge of my nose clear down my neck. It's not medical grade or anything, but I figure it does some good. It was hot as hell though. Store was packed. Looooong lines. Only 2 checkouts open. Most people wearing some kind of mask. All of us did well at spacing except I guess I did too well. I was so far back from the person in front of me that a guy with a full cart cut in. Sigh. People. Got everything except still no yeast to be found. No sanitizer --or any of those type of things still. I had toyed with buying some TP if it was well stocked. It definitely wasn't at all so I passed. We are still ok for now. The produce section was full which was nice. I got some strawberries that sort of smell like strawberries. Oh and I was able to get a whole chicken. AND SWIFFER PADS. Glory be. I was excited. I'm off to take a shower and change clothes and maybe a nap.

@Kim Shook Ohhhhh your cannelloni looks incredible. Want want want. Yeah, I get a stovetop stuffing crave every now and then. Good stuff. After seeing @Smithy's tacos from the other night, I had to have them too. My shells were a bit stale but a bit in the oven made that all go away Venison tacos, RG beans and rotel cheese dip

He did go down to the river with the dogs.... *note to self: check for a banana tree down there
-
You were right! I humbly apologize

@Kim Shook I literally drooled. I need that tamale pie. Going to dig and see if I have any canned tamales, if not, they are going on the list. I have to go sometime this week to get Ronnie's meds so might as will grab a few things at the store since I'm in there. Blurry venison chili over spaghetti with some corn bread. Bread looks white because I was too lazy to find my yellow cornmeal and the bag of white fell out of the cabinet first. A little tomato/canned artichoke heart/kalamata olive salad with lemon chicken, stuffing and bruss. sprouts Last night another salad and pepperoni and mushroom pizza

So, every day I walk by that bunch of green "plantains" and think "Ok. Tomorrow I will be creative and make something wonderful with these." And then the next day comes and I think the same thing. My brain just doesn't want to deal with something new I guess. Anyway. Yesterday I was out in the garden and Ronnie scampered up to me (yep he scampered) and told me that I and all of EG owe him an apology. I rolled my eyes and said "For What???" Yes, friends. He was right. They are freaking bananas. 🤣 Took 7 years to turn yellow, but yes. Bananas. So, I apologized for all of us and made him a layered chocolate pudding/banana/Nilla Wafer/whipped cream thing 🤷♀️

@ElsieD I don't know how I missed this since December. I think even your latest ones look delicious. I bought a cannele pan years ago and have never been brave enough to try it.

Took some of the roasted goose from the other day and pressure cooked it for about an hour with some homemade beef stock. Made it nice and tender for goose and noodles Served with some store bought sourdough.

Need to remember this sauce. Sounds really good.
