Theres another thread on eGullet where I stated that my sons baseball team and parents group get together every summer and have a bbq for 7 years, and I took home made Thai Shrimp salad, and shrimp spring rolls and a few more things and NO ONE toughed them or knew what they were. One parent tried to unwrap the spring rolls! I live in the Philly Burbs! Last year I made a California Roll Salad and a Sandwich Cake and NO ONE TOUCHED it! But again they ate the hell outta that sour cream onion dip and other fatty heavy fare. Im done! Ive just had enough of the (I hate to say it) IGNORANCE!

Lindag? You know Im gonna just be blunt... OMG in this day and age to be so culinarily deficient and dumb really gets on my nerves. I really dont get after all the cooking shows, all the videos on the net, all the cookbooks published and recipes on the net HOW someone cannot know how to cook simple things like chicken. OMG the older I get the more I hate people!

Im watching the 2014 White House Correspondents' Dinner on CSPAN, OMG no one has table manners. Everyones chewing with their mouths open and talking and chewing at the same time. Blowing their noses at the table! UGH! Do table manners no longer count in the millenials? BTW this is the menu.. Salad Course: Poached Bosc Pear with St. Pete’s Bay Blue Cheese, Petite Salad of Wild Red Watercress, Candied Pecans and Dried Cranberries, Port Vinaigrette Entrée: Hand cut Broiled Petite Filet of Beef Served with a Four Day Demi, Onion Brulee Crostini Paired with Herbed Crab Cake on White Corn Fondue, Seasonal Vegetables to include Asparagus, Carrot, Sunburst, Roasted Pepper Dessert: Tapas display of assorted desserts to include: Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, Assorted Mousse Lollipops, Lime Glace, Chocolate Pyramid glazed in crunchy peanut cocoa butter glaze The people at the Washington Post dont know what the 4 day Demi Glace is.lol http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/reliable-source/wp/2014/04/03/a-white-house-correspondents-dinner-menu-mystery/

People who ask a cook/chef what they can substitute for half the ingredients in a recipe or substitute for an integral ingredient or people who wanna substitute most of the ingredients. Like wtf! Exagerated example: 'Hi, this cake looks good, but Im a low carber, what can I substitue for the flour and sugar?" Its a cake fer gods sakes!

I once ate at the house of the Italian owner of a concrete empire... My moms HS friend. She dragged us along even though I had the flu. The rigatoni had chopped up gherkins aplenty in it. I felt myself turning green... My ex sister in law invited me and my ex to dinner, we were seated in the livingroom in front of the tv while they ate in the dining room. They brought us out plates of spaghetti with Ragu on it topped with plain cooked ground beef and individual serving packets of kraft parm. Lastly I spent thanksgiving at an online friends house one year. She kept asking her ex hubby (who was creepy) "Does the turkey taste like turkey to you?" and winking at each other ...No it didnt actually. I thought I was gonna puke on the table after tasting the dried out and gross tasting brocolli cheese casserole. EVERYTHING was disgusting. She gave me a platter of this slop to take home... I wanted to puke all the way back to Pa, I have never eaten any meal that bad in my life Ive blacked out most of it from my mind

Process the cookies in a Vitamix the same way as you would for making flour out of grain. Then sift several times to get a silky texture. Combine with powdered sugar and organic shortening (made from palm oil) You will use a lot of shortening, it will shock you how much.

So apparently its a huge thing in South Korea to watch people eat large amounts of food on live cams The most popular eater is named 'The Diva' and she eats a lot at one 3 hour sitting. You can chat with her while she eats and send her "balloons" aka money. Eaters can make $9000.00 a month eating. Some are sponsored by restaurants. I am 5 books away from completing my 39 book set of ALL the Time Life Good Cook series I even have the thin paperback Well Equipped Kitchen "accessory' book. Then I can complete my Betty Crocker spirals and the TL World series and TL Healthy Home Cooking and Weeks Worth Of Menus series Im still bitter that Koenemann Publishers never completed their Culinaria series... Andie what I ate has NO lemon flavor at all... Its all tasteless with a hint of Mandarin Orange and a bit of sweetness. The zest smells of CITRON. Its like taking 3 Tablespoons of Mandarin orange juice and stirring it into 1 cup water

My family is mostly gone and what remains is dysfunctional, the only thing my Grandmother made that I cared about was her browned potatoes after making a pork roast in the pan. I cant ever get the potatoes to get that rich brown coating on them. Maybe the pork has changed so much that you cant do it anymore.
