Emeril needs to see this thread before blaming the President for his restaurants not doing good...lol My faves: Andrew Zimmern Bourdain Guy Fieri Lidia All the ppl from Cooks Country Daisy Martinez Pati Jinich Biba Caggiano Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger but only when they used to have their cooking show, not now And even though they both annoy me: Steven Raichlen Rick Bayless Hated: Christina Perillo Anyone on The Chew Joanne Weir Emeril Scott Conant for his hatred of raw onions Bobby Flay Nadia G -
I skewer several different pickled items on short skewers to place alongside all sandwiches. Tomolives, Pickled Okra, pepperoncini etc.Adds value to the plate. Cooked cheese ravioli in homemade chicken soup. I quick pickle onions for burgers so their flavor pops

What's wrong with restaurant websites: an example
GlorifiedRice replied to a topic in Restaurant Life
Okay I might get bashed for this BUT I think its a GUY THANG. Women are more logical... Case in point, my Fathers best friend married his sister. They had 4 kids. One son was one of the big computer whizzes of the 80's Computer whiz had a son who also loves computers. My uncle had one of the most successful restaurants in my area. Guess who did the MASSIVE and COMPLICATED website? Son of ComputerWhiz. I think they wanna show their internet muscles and bravado...meanwhile all diners want is to see the menu, directions and the phone number -
But Can Ingredients Be TOO Good For A Successful Dish?

I agree... Recently, now that Belgioiso released a Burrata to supermarkets a lot of people are posting "recipes" for Burrata that make me nuts. -

I agree. Plus being a FOODIE isnt all about being a gourmet, It is also about trying everything and the experiences. Foodies will eat the KOBE beef ANNNND the deep fried Kool Aid. The foodie in me is thrilled to be in Wegmans country, but Im also so happy that we now have a new POPEYES fried chicken near me. Everyones tastebuds are diferent. What might be YOUR fave chocolate might not have been say Julia Childs fave. Take for instance GODIVA. A lot of people think Godiva is high class chocolate, but its made by Campbells Soup Company, I hate it. My 3 fave chocolates are Aldis House Brand "Moser Roth" 70% Droste Pastilles and Anything from Ashers Chocolate Factory (the oldest chocolate company in the USA) I also have a secret stash of the old fashioned candy "ICE CUBES" in my freezer. Ice Cubes had hazelnut before Hazelnut was "cool".... I have a lot of European friends who LOVE Lindt Truffles, yes they are sooo creamy and good BUT they are not real truffles, they are all palm or coconut oil. A lot of expensive chocolates taste, TO ME, like they have grain alcohol flavoring extracts, like Starbucks coffee tastes like that to me too. They dont have a pure chocolate flavor to me... and that is exactly why I adore Droste Pastilles or Moser Roth 70% or Ashers Almond Bark... its good simple chocolate flavor. TO ME and none are very expensive.

Also these Dole Chopped Salads need to be eaten with a large spoon. They cannot be eaten with a fork. http://wincofoods.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/DoleChoppedBlends.jpg

So since my son is autistic we dont do scary rides (thank god) so we go to Dutch Wonderland every year and do the tame rides they have there. Seriously it really is great for high anxiety kids and adults with special needs who dont do roller coasters or other high rides. They have a monorail, 2 virtual reality rides, bumper cars, 3 boat rides, a go cart type ride, carousel and more. Even a few live shows. Anyway THEY HAVE DOLE WHIP!!! I got a small one in a cup and 2 spoons and we had a few spoons and tossed the rest. Im watching sugars and my son didnt want the rest. It was very refreshing as 2 posters above said. But I read the ingredients and OMG I was under the impression that it was whipped pineapple! Its not. Its all crap.It was delicious and I probably would have finished it before last Decembers Drs visit. Just cant have all that sugar... BTW Dutch Wonderland is in Lancaster pa -
Anything a person can buy in the "gift' section at Walmart, kmart or Target that have mugs, nut eating accessories or shelf stable cheese in them. Score extra worst points for "gift kits" containing Oreo or M & M characters

Just reading this post Im struck by how much I dislike people! Sending someone a pre-used George Foreman Grill? A cookbook for people with cancer? 2 years of large amounts of unwanted fruits? Seriously what is wrong with people?
