I tried the Delice de Bourgogne cheese today. Delicious, and a deal at $14 lb. One thing, though, it's pretty salty, so beware if you are not a person who likes salt. Still, creamy x 3 and rather addictive.

I don’t usually snack in the evening, but I’m currently nibbling on some aged Gouda (Trader Joe’s 1000 day) and sipping a small glass of wine. This came about due to my new Apple watch which buzzed and told me to stand up and move around for a little while. I didn’t have any little tasks I wanted to embark on at this hour but it occurred to me that I could go get myself a little snack. Probably not the intended result of this “fitness reminder” 🙃 When I finish nibbling, I’ll look up how to turn this function off!

Of course, first they have to make the butter, གཡག་མར། (gyagmar). Yak milk is higher in butterfat than that from regular cattle, resulting in a richer butter. Also, camelcamelcamel shows this price history for the CSO-500C on Amazon.ca. While currently unavailable, it looks like it was in stock as recently as the end of June.

I've never not seen them in mainstream stores. I think you meant to say this to @IndyRob; not me.

Trying to get a conversation going about the new CSO. So far, he's not biting. But, he hasn't said no, either.

I'm still trying to figure out the actual size of this oven. Different sites seem to have different numbers. It's available in Australia and there it says the dimensions are: Weight (kg) 14.3 Product Height (cm) 37.5 Product Width (cm) 39 Product Depth (cm) 41 which is approx 15" high x 15.5" wide and 16" deep. Costco Canada says: Dimensions - Height 41.91 cm (16.5 in.) Dimensions - Length 44.45 cm (17.5 in.) Dimensions - Width 56.52 cm (22.25 in.) And Cuisinart Canada says: Dimensions : 20.80" x 19.10" x 18.30" Here's the Australian video:

Yes. The Chinese government imports pork, mainly from the EU, with Spain being the main source. Total imports amounted to $4,6 billion worth in 2024. This is to top up China's own massive production. The USA was also a major supplier but recent events have scuppered that with e\large existing orders being cancelled. They hold large pork reserves which are used to keep prices stable, releasing reserves to lower prices when they rise or withholding them when the price stabilises, It is also held to maintain supplies. This aspect became important during the swine fever epidemic a few years ago. How much is held is a state secret. Prices did rise during the epidemic but not by much and have since fallen back.

I don't even see it listed at all at Cuisinart USA's website... If an enterprising Canadian were to send a friend in the USA a gift, do we have to pay duty?

CostCo USA does not seem to have the CSO-500C the Canadian price is much lower than the Cuisinart USA price. something seems to be goin going on here. indeed , my CSO II is fine , and so will the CSO III be , many years from now. but there is something to be said for planning ahead.

You need to just make more counter space 😁 I wanna know if I want one or not.

I have considered it, but still having a functional CSO-300 on the countertop and another in the box for back-up, I don't know if I can justify the purchase right now. I'd really like to try it though! I think it would fit on my counter, there's about 19.5" under the upper cabinets. I've got it 'saved for later' in my online Costco shopping cart.
