Oh yeah I saw this and immediately started getting the plastic out, but then wondered - is a block like this potentially bad for knives? It looks like it puts a lot of pressure on one part of the blade, but maybe it grips it somehow.

I stopped in Sur la Table today and saw something that reminded me of the Voodoo knife holder:

The Ouch Toothpick holder (approx $6.95):
