Help! We're having a going away dinner for a friend tomorrow nite in Dupont, no one's made reservations (I know, I know...), and we need some help! There will be 10 people. Type of food doesn't matter. Any ideas? Thanks...

I am going to write a rewiew later today but the old/new Straits of Malasyia may fit your needs. They could probably handle a group at this late moment where other may not.

I was not thrilled with the food but we are talking last minute here. I do have high hopes for the place.

Its at 18th and T, across for Lauiol Plaza. Their phone number is listed under Larry's Lounge I think.

Wabeck, would BDC fit the bill?? Although, I'm going there tomorrow night--so don't take up ALL the seats!

BdC is probably the best bet at this late hour. Sette might work as well.

Don't forget Timberlakes!

I thought they only served Scotch, Gin and Rum.

What time are you meeting? Saturday nights start late so a place that has a huge line at 8:30 may be empty at 6:30.

There's also a new Greek place just down the block from BDC called Mourayo. I've just had apps there, but I enjoyed it, it's a change of pace and they haven't been too crowded the last couple of times I walked by.

Is that the place that serves pasta and suce in a trough?

I'll admit I went once against my will. The place *is* cavernous.

You know what? Before you set foot in Buca di Beppo or Timberflakes n' Floozies, consider Mimi's. That place is designed for groups and the food meets the expectation...

It's happy gay!

Naw, they actually have decent beer on tap and edible burgers.

Just don't piss off the waitresses (esp. Fiona), they WILL beat you down like you were an Iraqi prisoner.

If someone writes a book about restaurants and nobody reads it, will it produce a 10 page thread?
