Another interesting CBS Sunday Morning report...someone on the staff at CBS is definitely a "foodie".

Kind of ends on a sad note regarding all of the famous restaurants that closed this year due to COVID. Will this Chinese restaurant also become a victim of COVID?

For those who can't view the video, here is the URL/link:

They did actually teach us about the Chinese rail workers in school; just not the not so pretty backstory. Those booths! - like the ones many early San Francisco places had. Thanks for the link.

A full 9 years older than the oldest one here in NYC...Nom Wah Tea Parlor.

But...the oldest Chinese restaurant in San Francisco IS actually older, as it opened in 1906...Sam Wo. However, it moved from its original location, so it hasn't been continuously operating in the same location, just continuously operating.

I can't open the video for some reason, but I know the question of which was the first has been disputed since the first was opened. Who cares?

I actually met one of the original Nom Wah waitresses. Interestingly a German Lady, Betty Hess. Went to her funeral a few years back.

Possibly the people who produced the piece for CBS news?

Possibly the people who own the restaurant?

You know, people who aren't as cynical about things as you and me.
