I know someone previously mentioned panning.  I know it isn't the thrust of this conference, but would REALLY like to learn a little about it.  I'm glad this is a possibility.

Just checking - I know this is a very casual event, but is there any reason to pack anything a little dressier? Do people dress for Saturday dinner, or just stay casual?

We will presumably meet one another at the Morato event on Thursday evening. However, in case something untoward occurs:

 

1) What is time and location for the SOMA tour on Friday? (my guess is @ the factory location - 35 Golden Ave.)

 

2) Time and location of Friday Pizza night / show & tell?

SOMA is 11 am at - as you note 35 Golden Ave. The folks for the Master's class will make their way to Goûter (3507 Bathurst) and the rest of us will go check out some other chocolate shops (I'd better get working on where to go!).

 

Pizza night/show and tell - also at Goûter - likely starting around 7 I suspect by the time they clean up after the masters class.

These are places a friend recommended to me.  Can't vouch for any of them, but I trust my friend's taste. My wife's joining me Saturday night and I'm staying til Wed 5/18 so we'll probably check some of them out later in the week.  Then again, I love Thai.

I think since people will be coming from all over the place to Morato we we probably just end up milling around outside the auditorium until they let us in - don't know if we'll sit as a block or all over. Probably have to play it by ear.

 

Soma - parking sucks! Goûter - free and should be reasonable amount of spots - particularly later Friday and Saturday for Shabbat.
