  5. Love the money shot! My family also loves this trashy dessert. My pro tip is to use Fruit Fresh on the banana slices before placing them because if you don't eat it fast enough they oxidize and turn brown. Thanks @Kim Shookfor making me drool!
  6. Food Network's web site has Alton Brown's new shows (click here). You have to have a TV cable/dish provider for your home service. It's an odd request. What about cable cutters who no longer have any TV cable/dish service? How else can they stream the show? I just don't get it.

    Nasty Ingredients

I don't have the source for this info but I read that they studied this asparagus effect and found everyone gets it when they eat the vegetable, but not everyone can smell/notice the impact it has on their urine. Some do, some don't.

  15. I discovered that my local Walmart grocery store sells bags of processed Hatch Chiles in their frozen section. It looks like a sort of pureé. Has anyone cooked with the frozen Hatch pureé? I am just curious if being frozen impacts/lessens the heat of the peppers.
  16. Seamus Blackley, mentioned in the original article, has posted his baking success with the ancient yeast on Twitter: "Tasting History: Bread Baked With 4,500-Year-Old Yeast From Ancient Egyptian Pottery" I'd be interested in the DNA & RNA sequencing to see how different these ancients yeast are from their modern cousins.

  18. "Feast Your Eyes on This $7,100 Hot Dog Couch That Is Currently Being Sold at Your Fave Department Store" That is if your "fave Department Store" is Neiman Marcus. There are photos of the couch and accompanying pillows. It's a snarky article written about an admittedly odd food-related gift.
  19. The proverbial Other Shoe drops: "Whole Foods to cut health care benefits for 1,900 part-time employees"
  20. You're right. I did check this. Their email provides a link to locate used books that have the free shipping. This is the page for searching used books with free shipping: CLICK
  21. Salted cashews from a small vat 'o' cashews I bought at Costco.
  22. AbeBooks.com currently has free shipping. I think it's for the month of September (don't quote me on that). I am not a paid spokesperson for them and receive no remuneration for this mention.
  23. I think there are a couple of different kinds of squeeze bottles. One has a small screen in the hole that is supposed to prevent any water that separates out from the ketchup to not go through. It is supposedly mixed back in as the ketchup is forced through. That may be causing the issue @Kim Shook has with squeeze bottles. The triple-set of bottles I buy at Costco don't have the screen in them...it's just a clear hole.

    Wendy's USA

"Wendy's has a new breakfast menu. Here's what's on it" They mention the 3 leading menu items in the article, with photos. Wendy's got the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit right, where McD's needs, and is missing, the honey butter in their version.
  25. I recall that, as well. Perhaps the technology isn't affordable, yet.
