Has the APO gotten a "good start" yet? ☺️ p

Three events would have to happen before I would buy that. My present Zo would have to die. I would have to start a majorly Asian diet. I would need to become MUCH wealthier. p

Not to get into a huge science discussion here, yes water boils at a lower temperature at lower pressure: https://www.engineersedge.com/h2o_boil_pressure.htm According to the chart @ 29.12 inches of hg vacuum, water will boil @ 76F. That is the accepted vacuum level of a good chamber vac. I'm unconvinced that evaporating the water will actually cool he bread and as Andrewk512 has questioned where does that moisture go? Into the dry pump? I don't "know' but I strongly suggest Anova is using a dry pump. This will probably discussed in more depth once someone gets their hands on one. p

I've never heard of that before and my understanding is that liquids, i.e. the moisture in the bread would heat up and boil under reduced pressure p

I have a Vacmaster VP-112 with no problems for around the same length of time - but if I didn't I'd go for the Anova - price, size and weight! p

Consumer Reports did a nice review of the Zojirushi NP- GBC05 that rotuts purchased. Well done sir! https://www.consumerreports.org/rice-cookers/is-the-zojirushi-np-gbc05-rice-cooker-worth-the-high-price-a1074644411/ She rated it highly and the review is worthwhile as well for its discussion of the whole rice cooker/rice topic. It is made in Japan. My Zojirushi is the NP-HCC10XH. It has a few more menu settings which include Jasmine. p

@Annie_H - have you tried Maseca Corn Flour from Amazon? p

Not really experienced that issue - mind you I'm just using bog standard cheddar for the most part p

To my mind, if the price of one thing goes up, for whatever reason, then everything else in that train should go up, regardless of whether they are already making billions in profit. So if Pepsi, or whoever is making billions in profit and someone down flow raises their prices to Pepsi 10% then why shouldn't Pepsi do the same??? Thought, you budget $20 for a meal, then invite a date so now it's $40, are you astounded at the price increase? Are you indignant? Do you think it's unfair? Grow up - it's life! p

Sweet machine - appears to do everything - weight and size are doable, price (for my needs) not so much https://testek.ca/en/produit/minipack-mx2-compact-chamber-vacuum-sealer/ Well done! p

ATK did testing of induction burners - in their review they said: "We wondered why some of the heating coils were so much smaller than the bottoms of our full-size pans. One factor is that a smaller coil is cheaper to manufacture, so the less expensive units tended to have coils about 6 inches in diameter, while the priciest and most powerful unit's coil was approximately 9 inches." The Breville was the 9 incher The full review is pay walled. p

As having a smaller appetite, I split chickens and only cook 1/2 at a time - have even done them in an air fryer - size is not an issue (except on date nights 👅) p

I know your question was directed to rotuts, but I've had two Brevilles and a CSO before moving to the APO. The first BSO died having suffered the same malady yours seems to have, fan The CSO stopped producing steam and I followed the repair instructions mentioned wa up thread to no avail No problems with the BSOA other than no steam. I have the Breville "A Bit More" toaster that I am well pleased with as well as the APO that I am VERY well pleased with p
