  4. Not the Gripstic, but it reminded me of these: https://www.amazon.ca/Jokari-169306P2-Hands-Free-Storage-Holder/dp/B0049NQEKO/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1YSDGTU2H9W41&keywords=baggy+rack&qid=1646012510&s=kitchen&sprefix=baggy+rack%2Ckitchen%2C278&sr=1-4 Think sous vide, think vacuum sealing - getting a good seal means having the seal area clean and dry. I'd tried folding the bag back on itself, even made a funnel from a plastic bottle. Nothing worked satisfactorily, Then I discovered these - they held the bag securely, held it open and upright - hands free. I've used them for soup, chicken pieces, just about ay thing that is wet and messy and my seal area is clean and dry. They ma not appear very substantial but they hold the bag securely and I haven't had any mishaps and the price is more than reasonable. p
  5. I'm guessing the reason for smaller coils is heat dissipation p

  8. Bag in bag! I have a couple of insulated freezer bags I use in the summer - place frozen items in one which is then placed in the other which is finally placed in the cooler - the trick is to remove as much air as possible from the bags and to use a cooler that is just big enough for your needs - filling any excess space in the cooler with newspaper or some such will make a big difference. p
  9. A follow-up: https://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=2374496 I wonder how the two ladies managed without their new Vitamix blender - did they have an old one? What kitchen appliance would sub in for a blender? I've used a food processor when making hummus but the results are not as smooth/creamy. Vitamix's response was unexpected and certainly reaped plenty of PR coups for them p
  10. Ventilation only reduces the health risks - health was not the primary thrust of the study. p
  11. Me too - price and weight main considerations - many years with no problems - I won't argue that an oil pump isn't better, but... p
  12. Unfortunately Walmart is the only delivery service available to me - so the other options you mentioned might be tempting, I won't be moving just to access them p
  13. Let's hope they don't expand too much when they freeze. p
  14. Walmart here uses DoorDash - my order today consisted of 7 bags plus 5 jugs of juice - no extra charges - just pick a delivery time - all done online they have an app but why would you want to? p
  15. I found that Walmart delivers groceries for $7 - all of their groceries - order today, get it tomorrow - no subscriptions! I believe I'm shopping local as it would be if I went to their store locally. I also have the option of not paying extra for "organic" p
  16. I stand by my earlier comment p
