  1. Did you write a blog of your trip?
  2. We were going to have tourtière, gravy, squash and Serious Eats Crispy French Fries. But then, since my Dutch heritage calls for appleflappen and oliebollen for New Years Eve by the time i made them, 2 dozen of appleflappen, 4 1/2 dozen oliebollen, I couldn't face the thought of making the fries. So instead I thawed out some cabbage soup and baked some ham and cheese scones to go with it. Oliebollen for dessert. Today will be tourtière and fries day. Made it to 11:40 last night. John tells me he lasted through midnight but not by much.
  3. You searched for Broccoli salad - Mel's Kitchen Cafe https://share.google/4GFhc9pdoupM6KTlm Link to the recipe I make. I use dried cranberries instead of raisins.

    Panettone

The chocolate doesn't really melt as in making a puddle but it will soften a bit and pieces do times fall out. When that happens, I just stick them back in.

    Panettone

I can't think that ice cream and panettone would go all that well together, but then, I've never tried it. Plain is good but personally, I like it the way I prepare it. We have been eating the Soma and are enjoying it. Haven't tried the apple one yet; we also have the three chocolate.
  6. I also like broccoli salad. Mine must have dried cranberries.
  7. @Pete Fred I gotta ask - who eats all of your wonderful baking?

    Panettone

What I do is lightly butter one side of a slice and place buttered side down, in a frying pan. Once lightly toasted, I flip it and heat it through on the second side.

    Panettone

We enjoyed some of Gouter's Soma panettone this morning. Excellent, as usual.
  10. @chromedome That is an amazing array of cookies. That's what I call a job well done. Congratulations!
  11. @Duvel Wow, just wow!
  12. Looking forward to reading your blog!
  13. @FauxPas Oh no! Of all the times to get sick. Wishing the two of you a speedy recovery
  14. Given that the recipe calls for fresh cranberries, the recipes calls for very little sugar.
