Have you ever looked forward to tasting something only to find out it really isn't what you thought? Goose liver - I do not think is either goose or liver.

Chicken scampie - I do not think there was any scampie in it.

Here is my idea of chicken scampie

I was always curious about the flavor of the jackalope...

Would it taste like chicken, or have a more gamier taste?

Fun fact I recently learned from this article in the NYT: jackalopes are just bunnies with really really bad cases of warts. I don't think I would eat one...

Having caught, killed (tougher than you'd think), cleaned (again ....), and cooked a turtle, I can see where Mock Turtle Soup might be a good idea, but having grown, picked, peeled cored and cooked apples, I can't see how Mock Apple Pie makes any sense?

What about that blue-veined mythological beast with a social conscience: Gorgonzola?

Coming soon to a theater near you: "Gorgonzola vs. Panzarella" -- you'll cringe as these two titans stomp Italy flat in their quest to determine whose marinara is the beast, er, best!

You would if it was the middle of a Minnesota (wherever) winter, you had snow up to the roof of the cabin and the family wanted apple pie!
