Pepsi Holiday Spice

A Holiday Spice Pepsi reduction as a glaze for a ham might be good. Or make a Coca-Cola cake with it.

Well, I didn't bother with the reduction--I just poured it right into the pan, to a depth of about 1/4 inch, and basted the ham frequently with it.

I probably should have made a glaze with brown sugar thrown in and coated the ham with it for about the last half hour or so, because the ham came out a bit salty, but I'd do this again--it added a nice cinnamonny/sweet flavor to the ham. (I probably could have made a nice glaze or sauce from the caramelized cola in the bottom of the pan, come to think of it.)

i concur. i actually braised mine in a liter and then put a mustard and brown sugar glaze on it. actually the outside of the ham wound up reminding me of barbecue.

I sipped on this all day on Thursday and enjoyed it. The red color was a little off-putting, but I liked the flavor, which I thought tasted more like a COke product (a good thing in my opinion)

I think the Holiday Spice flavor tastes like Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibbs. It's also a bit too sweet for my taste (I think it's sweeter than regular Pepsi.)

I'd prefer it to be spicier, i.e. more of a ginger zing would be welcome. I don't think I'd buy it again.

Still a fan of Vanilla Coke over Vanilla Pepsi.

Bought a bottle of this yesterday ... very subtle spice flavors ... and awfully sweet ... and I have to concur with the individual who said that it is much like Dr. Pepper in taste. :hmmm:

I'll third that. Tastes kinda like regular Pepsi mixed with Dr. Pepper with maybe a touch of allspice. That said, I kinda like it.

You people are whacked. When I tried the Holiday Spice, I couldn't recall tasting prunes at all.:laugh:

  • 3 months later...

All these months later I finally tried the holiday spice Pepsi, and I sort of like it although I think it's the color I actually like...

My corner store keeps on stocking it (they must have ordered a shitload back in November) and the fridge was newly filled with it today. So I finally gave in and bought a bottle. I kinda wish I had bought the Cricket Green Tea Cola which I saw for the first time at this store today instead.

I just bought some Cricket Green Tea Cola and it is soooooooooooo good. I LOVE it. The flavor is so fresh and wake up surprising to me compared with any other soda. I'm so glad I tried it...and guess what, the Pepsi holiday spice is still in the fridge at this store, newly stocked AGAIN.

Bumping this back up...

Pepsi Holiday Spice seems to be MIA this season.

Anyone see it in their area?
