The new schedule for the winter/early spring is just being finalized now. I don't think that he is on the list for Winter, but once all is set we will let you know.

There will be an e-gullet table (the community table - 6:30 pm) at the portland/clarklewis/Joyce Goldstein dinner on December 1. Let the restaurant know that is the one you want when you call in. Her book (Italian Slow and Savory) is just beautiful and the food should be great!

I had lunch at Union yesterday and asked Hans if Thomas Keller was coming or not and he said that it was almost a done deal. He also said that they are trying to get Mario and Armadino to do a joint dinner as well. Nothing is definite yet but oooh yeah! :smile:

There are still seats available for what promises to be a lovely evening with Michael Lomonaco at Union Bay Cafe On Wednesday the 1st. I just got off the phone with him. He says he looks forward to socializing with everyone. Remember Joyce Goldstein is at Serafina the next night. Our local chefs are planning to wow these authors. Call the restaurants for reservations. I hope to see you there.

Are pictures of the Cooks and Books events posted anywhere?

My mom and aunt went to Bourdain and thought they heard there would be a link to pics on Kim Ricketts' website, but can't find any. I sent her the link to the eGullet pictures (thanks rockdoggydog!) but, well, to be honest, we want to know if there's photo of her getting a big smooch from the Star Himself! Thanks for any info.

I wish I had been able to make this meal. My neighbor Jess told me the food was incredible, and I really want a copy of the cookbook. I paged through it at the bookstore and got really hungry.

If you email Kim Ricketts she may be able to help you out, the photographer's name is Andrea and she's a photo student at Seattle Central and said at tne Andrea Immer dinner that she would have the pictures ready in a few weeks. Finals are about to start in a week or so here so if you don't hear anything that may be why.

We will post the upcoming events as soon as we get commitments from publishers. I promise there will be some exciting matches. Once there, choose which dinner to view and then click on the pix to enlarge. You can order copies from that site. She is doing a fabulous job for us. Enjoy.

The lineup for the winter/spring cooks and books is shaping up. First up is Bill Granger, acclaimed Aussie chef of bill's in Sydney. In Portland he will be at Noble Rot on February 2. Dinner will be prepared by Leather Storrs and will be paired with Australian wines selected by Andrew Thomas of Merchant di Vino. Cost is $75 per person and includes a copy of "Bill's open kitchen" Chef Granger will be on hand to autograph books and visit with diners. Call Noble Rot for reservations before it is sold out!

He will also be doing a dinner up in Seattle.

Dates of the other dinners in Seattle and Portland are being finalized. Dinners will include Mark Bittman, Deborah Madision, Susan Herrman Loomis and others.

These dinners have been wonderful....great food well prepared by the local chefs, thoroughly enjoyable socializing with the visiitng chefs, excellent wine.

Ethan Stowell is a tease! :biggrin: Dani and I stopped by Union for a little something in the bar before going to the symphony and he was at the front desk when we walked in. He said, "We have a firm date for Thomas Keller but I can't tell you when." It's going to cost $200 with a book, making it the most expensive Cooks and Books event ever apparently. He also said that the Bittman dinner would be at Union also. Well, time to start saving up. :raz:

De-lurking to say: Holy ****!

This is the Bouchon cookbook, n'est pas? Bistro cooking?! Dinner at the French Laundry itself only costs $175... I love Ethan, and I love Keller, but that seems a tad nuts.
