"Japanese designer of soy-sauce bottle dies"

The upside-down funnel shape with a red cap was subsequently exported around the globe and became visual shorthand for soy sauce as the craze for Japanese food swept abroad.

A simple and efficient design...iconic would be an understatement.

Is this the one?

Yes. That's it.

I love this little bottle and have a number of them in use. It could be improved only one way and that is by having a cap over the cap to keep the ingredients fresh and to make it easy to transport without spilling. I bet someone's thought of that and made one. Am I right?
