Boston's PBS station WGBH broadcasts its cooking shows on Sat. in HD.

yesterday there was a new on: Neighborhood Kitchen

Its quite good: a host ( ) goes into a Boston restaurant and cooks (sort of) with the chef. It seems at the moment to have a latin flare and might move out of Boston to New England.

there is a decent amount so far of good cooking. the episode from Sat was a restaurant in the South End called Orinoco.

It would be a much better show if the host could actually cook and add to the cooking elements of the show. But .... its good enough if you concentrate on the actual Chef.

but Ive only seen one show, and I cant say if its going out to other PBS stations, even one near you!

Give it a peak if you can.

The WGBH site has videos of past episodes: http://www.wgbh.org/...d-Kitchens-1859

The two restaurants featured so far are very much casual neighborhood restaurants, though the two neighborhoods they've featured so far are two of Boston's most expensive. I'll be curious to see if they venture beyond downtown.

thanks for the tip. I had not noticed that clicking on the image of each show brings up the video.
