A butter fountain for Father’s Day? What were they thinking
Toliver replied to a topic in Food Traditions & Culture
Dude...get me a ladle! How about dunking roasted asparagus spears? Or some hot corn on the cob rolled under the butter flow? Or dipping baked potato bites in the butter and then rolling them in diced bits of bacon? Talk about gilding the lily! -

When in doubt, throw it out. I was able to find this ancient eGullet discussion about making your own soy sauce: "Making Soy Sauce At Home" You may find some answers/resources in it.

How Pavlovian of me...Shelby mentions zucchini and it makes me wonder if my car doors are locked.

Baby Ruth's are a softer "chew", as well. The nougat/caramel with the Payday is a lot chewier/tougher. Plus, there's a salt-kick with the Payday, upping the Salty/Sweet combo.

I've given up artificial sweeteners (since last autumn) but used to drink "Canada Dry Ginger Ale 10" (which is like your Dr. Pepper 10)...it's a mix of sugar and artificial sweetener. Also no caffeine and no caramel coloring. It's very refreshing.

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )

Water gets added at 4:55. She neglected to mention, when she sprays the pie pan before placing the crust inside it, what she was spraying the pan with. I will assume it's a non-stick spray like "Pam". But, I could be wrong (though I don't think I am). -
Universal Toastamagic won't "pop up" the toast - can someone help?
Toliver replied to a topic in Kitchen Consumer
You should visit eG member @andiesenji 's web site (click here and scroll down to see and read about her toaster collection). She has large collections of a lot of old kitchen appliances & tools. In the past she's posted many pictures of her collection in various eGullet discussions. -
Oy! "Chipotle Is Finally Adding Drive-Thrus, but You Can't Order From Them" I understood they were originally against drive-thru's because drive-thru's are bad for the planet, overall. Wasted gas while waiting in the drive-thru, exhaust fumes, yada, yada, yada. And now?...so much for "Save the Planet". Now they've given in and they're going to finally have drive-thru's...that you can't order from! Maroons! [/Bugs Bunny]

Does that mean you did find a repair booklet? -

My mom would "trick" us kids into eating fish (usually a mild white fish) by broiling it in the oven, and then slathering it with salsa and heaping a large mound of cheddar cheese on top of each filet. She'd stick it back into the oven until the cheese melted. We enjoyed it. I guess you could say it was a kind of fish nachos.

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )

@Kim Shook Thanks for posting the picture. Looking at the recipe, they have a lot of fat in them (between the butter, sour cream and whipping cream) so it's no wonder they spread. The Creamsicle cookies look a lot more like regular chocolate chip cookies, except the chips are white chocolate chips. Please post how they turn out for you. -
This is NOT a food-related Kindle book. But I think it's enough of a classic to merit posting. It's also not priced at what I would consider a bargain-basement price but it's pretty darn close. Edith Hamilton's "Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes, 75th Anniversary Illustrated Edition" Kindle Edition $3.99US Edited to add an actual ecookbook from this afternoon: Olwen Woodier's "The Pesto Cookbook: 116 Recipes for Creative Herb Combinations and Dishes Bursting with Flavor" Kindle Edition $2.40US I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary.
