Is this the ice cream cookbook you were looking for? It's still bargain-priced. It's puzzling to me that it's not the same price for you. "Ample Hills Creamery: Secrets and Stories from Brooklyn's Favorite Ice Cream Shop" Kindle Edition $2.99US Use the "Look Inside" feature to see the list of recipes. Other sale-priced cookbooks: "Mustards Grill Napa Valley Cookbook" Kindle Edition $1.99US "The Moosewood Cookbook: 40th Anniversary Edition" Kindle Edition $2.99US "From a Polish Country House Kitchen: 90 Recipes for the Ultimate Comfort Food" Kindle Edition $2.99US "B. Smith Cooks Southern-Style" Kindle Edition $.99US Two that are slightly above the level of the usual sale-priced cookbooks but may be of interest to some: (the cookbook below has been on-sale before but it was short-lived) "Fress: Bold, Fresh Flavours from a Jewish Kitchen" Kindle Edition $3.99US "The Ginger & White Cookbook" Kindle Edition $3.99US I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary. edited to claify

The good news is it's available for the Kindle (click here), but the bad news is it isn't sale-priced.

I think that was a storyline on an episode of "Friends". Flaky Phoebe was the one who made the cookie's from her aunt's recipe and she "Frenchi-fied" the name of the cookie...something like "Twole Haus", or something like that. Monica (the chef) was furious when she found out it was the Toll House recipe. Perhaps the show's writers had heard the same story...

You could always make Parmesan Tomato Chips (click) unless you really just don't like the taste of tomatoes, period. These chips sound like dehydrated tomatoes which shouldn't go bad on you.

@andiesenji also recommended the Envy in another eG discussion. I was able to find them in a local grocery store and was impressed with them. They are quite crisp and the flavor is wonderful.

Another "Holy Cow" moment: Lidia Matticchio Bastianich's "Lidia's Favorite Recipes: 100 Foolproof Italian Dishes, from Basic Sauces to Irresistible Entrées" [Kindle Edition] Kindle Edition $2.99US I was bemoaning (to myself) that ever since I bought that one Lidia cookbook that was sort of on sale (but not bargain-priced) that Amazon kept showing me more and more of her titles that were nowhere near sale-priced. Then I saw this title today and quickly posted here it lest it go away all too quickly. Another bargain-priced cookbook I saw when I discovered Lidia's cookbook on sale: Food blogger Jennifer Farley's "The Gourmet Kitchen: Recipes from the Creator of Savory Simple" Kindle Edition $.99US I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary. edited for spelking

"McDonald's Is Unleashing a Big New French Toast Breakfast Sandwich" Currently being tested in Minnesota. Are there any Minnesotans on the board who have tried one?

You can tell when Fritos go bad when the oil in them oxidizes giving them an "off" taste. Maybe y'all got a bad batch. I love Fritos and love love love their Chile-flavored Fritos. They're great to crumble up and put on top of a bowl of chile. Fritos are great with the Lipton Onion dip and you can also make a "poor man's Nachos" out of them in a pinch. Does anyone remember Wampum Chips? Talk about racially insensitive! I believe they were a Frito-Lay product. Anyway, I could swear that today's Sun Chips are the same as Wampum chips, just renamed.

I finally tried Taco Bell's french fries. They're really good and are not spicy at all. I couldn't figure out what the spice blend on the fries was. Just an overall nice blend. The cheese sauce they give you (to dunk the fries in) is ubiquitous and very generic tasting. The major drawback with the fries is that they are limp when served. They need to be run through an Air Fryer to totally crisp them up and then they'd really be awesome.

There's the usual anecdote about how the kids would see mom making mac & cheese with the open blue box near the stove. Except it was an old box that she kept pulling out of the pantry every time she made her own homemade version of mac & cheese. The kids were none the wiser.

"Hearty eaters’ alert: KFC Offers Double the Fried Chicken in Its New Sandwich" Re: Chick-fil-A vs KFC...There's a difference between the breading on their chicken sandwiches. I guess it boils down to a preference thing, IMHO. I suppose I could take the double filet KFC sandwich home, remove the extra filet and make another sandwich out of it (or slice it up and add it to a salad). It seems like a lot of meat for one sandwich. Thing that make you go "Hmm": Would I get tired of all that chewing? Has anyone tried this new sandwich? Or even the original single-filet version?
