  1. Maybe Kerry will give it a try and report back.
  2. Have you considered using a rotovap to concentrate the solids?
  3. They say you can eat any fungi once.
  4. Thanks. At the moment Ninja Kitchen shows stock of a set of two containers, but not of the set of four containers.
  5. The Ninja.com domain is up for sale. Was it where you found containers?
  6. An hotel pan. I have a quarter sheet pan that I could test but I'd have to excavate it first. Meanwhile I went back to the QVC website to lust for the new Creami: "We're sorry. This item is not available at this time."
  7. What is the tray on which the Creami containers are sitting? It is different from the tray Vesta sent me.

    Dinner 2021

Continuing with my Tasting Georgia supra: Tskhare Neknebi (pp 344-345), Spicy Ribs. Recipe from the Diaroni restaurant. Ribs were marinated overnight in a mixture of mayonnaise, sunflower oil, ajika*, garlic, and a serrano pepper. Served with raw onion. I consumed an inordinate amount of beans and a raw onion. Work at the library in a few hours should be fun. *ingredients: utskho suneli, fennel, Georgian bay leaf, garlic, coriander, red pepper, and salt
  9. If so, sad. I neglected to use the 10% off coupon.
  10. The unit I ordered comes with five containers. Somewhere in this thread I read that if you registered your purchase with Ninja you could get an additional container. Is this still the case?
  11. My GE electric oven has a firmware option to turn off after a certain time. First time that happened I thought the stove was broken. Above some temperature my Paragon will shut off after about half an hour, unless a key is pressed. As I remember the CSO has a maximum running time of two hours.
  12. I'm kicking myself that I could have saved $10 by entering a promo code.
  13. My metalworking shop is in the living room. But I'd have to move the rum from the workbench to use it.
  14. I could only hold out so long. Miffed that my expected delivery date is 9/27. But this gives plenty of time to figure out a place to put it!
  15. Anyone tried using a coffee roaster for popcorn?
  16. Wow, the stove guard costs twice what my stove cost. How does the stove guard prevent a fire? An apartment in the building next to mine was destroyed by careless cooking.

    Dinner 2021

One of my favorite dishes of all time.
  18. Actually, @Kerry Beal
  19. My never again is to boil beans in a pot with the lid askew. I started boiling the beans for my recent lobio in the flimsy Cuisinart pot in which they had been soaking. I adjusted the lid position for the rate of boil I wanted and stepped into the next room. OK, three rooms away. The lightweight lid slid into the seated position and the bean liquid boiled all over the stovetop. And, no, I didn't use the Paragon to set a boiling temperature because the Cuisinart pots don't work with induction.
  20. Do I understand correctly that you are using the sorbet setting for ice cream?

Marigold is used extensively in Georgian recipes, both whole petals and ground. My lobio called for 2 tablespoons dried petals, and the walnut sauce used 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground. The marigold I have is not the freshest. My primary Georgian spice purveyor went out of business and I need to source a new supply. Some recipes use marigold leaves.

    Dinner 2021

Last night I served a mini-supra. Some things from Carla Capalbo's Tasting Georgia. Thanks for the recollection from @Duvel https://forums.egullet.org/topic/163014-cerveza-cargols-i-covid-a-summer-in-catalonia/?do=findComment&comment=2310261 A supra requires drink: The winemaker is Gogita Makaridze (pp 258-261) from Tejola. The grape is Otskhanuri Sapere, well aged. http://gwa.ge/yurdznisjishebi_/otskhanuri-sapere/?lang=en Lobio (pp 398-399), Rancho Gordo Domingo Rojo long simmered with onion, garlic, cilantro, parsley, mint, marigold...and other things. Bazhe (pp 350-351), chicken with walnut sauce. Sadly drink is known to impair one's ability to operate machinery. Excellent walnut sauce is trivial to prepare in the Blendtec Twister Jar. These were red walnuts. I wish someday I could visit Georgia.
  23. Is anyone familiar with qvc.com?
  24. The power difference could be a simple mistake. Or it could be because, if I recall, the device has two motors, and the specification says: "1,000W total power". The blue color is nice though.
