Used to be my favorite commercial brand. Was superseded by Van Leeuwen.

On a business trip years ago I remember a company engineer taking me on a visit to the petrified forest. But I don't remember much about it. Where I live is on a diabase Triassic lava intrusion. Here they use dynamite to till the soil. One reason my living room ceiling is cracked. Early Dutch explorers called this the devil's featherbed.

Not likely. Even if I moved the Nina Creami to the bedroom to free up counter space, I looked and saw no Vine reviews for the GE. Vine items are almost never, ever products that are sold by Amazon, as opposed to products sold by third party sellers. There are exceptions, but they are few and far between. I did once receive a wonderful chest freezer that was sold by Amazon. Inscrutable is the mind of Jeff.

Sorry, I have no knowledge of the Instant Pot. My pressure cookers are Fissler, and I plan to cook Rancho Gordo beans tonight.

That thought had crossed my mind.

Amazon price is down to $626.98. Wish I had counter space. And had $626.98.

The current week's issue of The Economist has an article on replacements.com, where some of us source previously loved glassware and tableware. Apparently replacements.com is a huge operation. Unless sold as seconds, their offerings are indistinguishable from new.

In Liquid Intelligence (p248) Dave Arnold gives suggestions on using SP-L for removing pith from citrus peels -- with the exception of limes, which are too acidic. Soak the peels in a solution of SP-L 4g per liter for several hours. I particularly enjoy SP-L treated grapefruit segments with the pith removed.

Try Pectinase SPL to remove the pith then candy.

Whole Foods has De Cecco at $2.79.

Worked great thank you! I am embarrassed because a friend gave me the same advice and I did not take her suggestion.

I continue to use my Paragon daily. However last week I ran into a problem. After five and a half years of faithful service the temperature sensor in the mat seems to have malfunctioned. I was cooking pancakes at 375F with the mat on rapid precise. The readout never reached much above 240F, but the pan was clearly hotter than 375F. I ran to the living room and retrieved a new mat from one of my two unopened spares. Today's pancakes were perfect. All the other parts of my original Paragon are still going strong.

How can I get baked on curry out of the bottom of my Le Creuset? (Don't ask.)
