DH and I were friends with a couple and he made excellent smoked salmon. He and hubster had been friends for many years; they worked at the same company and socialized quite a lot. We'd go skiing and they'd stay at our home. DH bought a smoker and thought he'd like to try his hand with smoking some salmon. Asked his friend to show him how to do it and 'friend' told him , sorry it's my Dad's family's recipe and I can't share it. What a dick.

Met up with a friend yesterday for lunch at our favorite cafe. We both had the same; French Toast, link sausage and country potatoes and diet Coke.

I had a recipe that I'd clipped from a magazine sometime in the 80s. It was a beef pot pie. I made it a couple of times and it was absolutely the best! Somehow I misplaced the recipe and have been searching for it ever since. I've also looked at other sources for it or similar and after all this time still haven't yet found anything (not really about not sharing.)

I did the same as you, finally got mine after three tries...from a different seller.

I think you have / have had at least one of every piece of kitchen equipment manufactured in the last hundred years!!!

Mom, who was from Pennsylvania Dutch country loved Scrapple. My Dad, however, was from the Deep South. So we never had Scrapple at home; in fact, I have never tasted it. There is still time though.

Breakfast was Eggo froz waffles with syrup topped with easy over fried eggs along with breakfast sausages (that sadly had been in the freezer a touch too long - had that off-taste that develops over time.)

My store had both sweet and mild. The color of each was different. The sweet was a more orange color. I couldn't remember which one the recipe used so I guessed it was the mild. I was wrong but as you've said, it probably didn't matter. Maybe it was all the tomato product in the lasagna that gave me indigestion.

My lasagna turned out very good (CI recipe). Unfortunately it has given me indegestion for some reason. The recipe specified sweet Italian sausage; I used mild Italian sausage. Is there a difference?

Other than meats is it necessary to rest foods such as lasagna or other casserole dishes?

Ever since someone (sorry, I can't find the thread right now) posted a link to this pan I have been determined to make a lasagna! I don't care that it's still hot here, I really want lasagna. So I made a CI recipe last night for dinner. No pictures though. It wasn't too tedious to make and it was very tasty. I will freeze some for another time.

I can see why they'd need additional medical expertise for this particular time.

I'd be happy to trade some of our 90+F temps for yours right now. Though it does cool down pretty well at night. Another month and temps will be tolerable again.

Inspired now to bake my own loaf... I had a box of KAF potato bread mix on hand that I'd bought a couple months ago. I'm mixing that up now in my bread machine and will bake it in my CSO. edited to add....my potato bread loaf rose too tall in the first few minutes and scorched on the top, I had to pull it out and finish it in my big oven.

Here in the West we get only Best Foods but I recently discovered that I can get Duke's thru online ordering from Walmart (no shipping charge for orders of >$35). I took that opportunity to order some Duke's, which I've never tasted. That jar is in my second fridge until I use up my current jar of BF.
