  1. I think I'm being enabled again..... Suddenly I need pork hocks and bacon seasoning!
  2. I'd have to need an awful lot of ice before I'd consider giving up the real estate it would take. My refrigerator in-door ice maker makes more ice than I could possibly ever use. I do think the stand alone ice makers are pretty cool though. I've always wanted a Sub Zero that has the ice drawer (and can make fancy ice cubes).
  3. Yeah, I love my ice maker and use it every day. Also, Zo bread machine, microwave, CSO, Keurig, Food saver, Ipots, lime squeezer, rice cooker. Heck, I want keep all my stuff.
  4. It seems sometime that the majority are from Canada, but that's probably because they tend to be quite active here. (I guess that should be, the majority IS from Canada.)
  5. I'm convinced. (Strangely enough, the two (real) dudes who were discussing the merits of pink Himalayan sea salt were a county sheriff and the 'perp' he was arresting.)
  6. It was like that here yesterday. I watched a repeat of an Ina Garten show wherein she made Winter Minestrone. It looked SO good that I'm dying to make it now. (I suppose I really should have posted the recipe in the Soup Topic.)
  7. Good luck. I’m on my THIRD shipment now and still waiting for the first one that was due two months ago. So far nothing,
  8. What is sucker budding and how/when do I do it? i just had some brand new peonies planted.

    Best pot luck recipes

If it were me, I'd do a pulled pork, I think.
  10. I was watching a TV show (the name of which I won't embarrass myself by mentioning) and these two dudes were discussing the merits of above mentioned Sea Salt and how much better it was than the standard table salt. Is this true?
  11. Cool and gloomy day today. Perfect for Campbell's Tomato Bisque soup (tastes to me infinitely better than their regular Tomato soup. Along with Nabisco mini saltines (better than the regular sized crackers).
  12. There's also a vey nice 8-qt. Tramontina pot on Amazon. (Can't post a link right now.)
  13. I gave up on the pasta pot w/insert years ago, too much washing up and too much mess. Now I use a 4-qt. All-Clad sauce pan filled hallway with salted water; (I usually only cook enough pasta for two) so that may not be enough for your needs.
  14. Same thing happened here, the enamel kept chipping and falling off. The newer models (stainless or plastic) are much better.
  15. I bought this one a few months ago. I also own the Eco Jeannie that I bought several years ago. I got the new one because it's bowl is a bit larger and I often have lemons and limes that are big. Both work very well the Chef n Fresh is easier on the hands. This Braun is my favorite for squeezing more than one or two. (I paid only $24.99, not the prices listed now). Since I'm squeezing citrus usually once or more times a day mine get a lot of use.

    Oreo Cookies

I actually prefer the Oreo Thins because I like the chocolate better than the filling. I know they cost the same but I think they're better without as much of the white stuff. They should have priced them less just because it's insulting to do otherwise.
  17. Placed my first 'free-two-day-delivery' order with Walmart yesterday. I had made a list for the same items on Amazon and not only were some of the WM items cheaper there were also some items that Amazon didn't have in stock. I use unsweetened iced tea K-cups a lot in the warmer months and they're not always available in local stores and Amazon didn't have any either. I'll still use Amazon but it's good to have another alternative
  18. I usually buy Pollsbury's frozen biscuits since I can bake only a few at a time. They’re better than the ones in the tube IMO.
  19. I suspect they're the type you whack the can on the counter edge.
  20. That's beautiful! I have a GE Profile and it's not nearly as pretty.
  21. Not completely focused I read this as, “I ate the whole roll in 3 seconds”. Which would be totally understandable.
  22. One of the joys of living in the boonies is that most everything is trucked in from somewhere state, usually Washington. Went to my nearby grocery the other day wanting Yakisoba Noodles here. Well the store gets their deliveries every other week and none were in the shipment, according to the meat manager. So I had to make my stir fry with sticky rice even though I REALLY wanted those Yakisoba noodles (they're very, very good.) I'm told there should be some in the next shipment arriving this coming Thursday night. So I will try again. The rice was good but not as good as the noodles.
  23. After seeing TV ads for Just Crack an Egg for months, the product finally arrived at my nearby store. I love scrambled eggs for breakfast but don’t usually have any add-ins pre-prepared. This item has solved my problem. I made the All American Scramble variety this morning and it was really good, I’ve no complaints at all. I mixed the ingredients plus two eggs in my Corningware microwave skillet and cooked, sired and cooked and stirred for a total of about two minutes total and the result was a very tasty breakfast. So easy and quick! My apologies if this item is not available in Canada.
  24. I really love homemade soups. I don't, however, remember my Mom, who was a very good cook, ever making soup. I think it must have been because my Dad was strictly a meat and potatoes man. Nothing gives me more pleasure than putting together a great pot of soup except making my own bread.
