The diminutive version is kotletky (plural) or kotletka (singular), pronounced with "a" katletky/katletka. That sounds similar to kaklaten.

You are absolutely correct. I should just call them kotlety. They just remind me about growing up in Russia, grandma, youth and all that

The marketing of his own cookbook, and beyond

I have noticed that Amazon kindle price for Acorns and Cattails dropped to 13.48. Just curious @gfron1 if Amazon is in full control of the pricing or if they need your permission to change it. -

Amazon price dropped to 415 dollars. Not exactly cheap but cheaper than it was... I ordered. Two day shipping. Can't wait.

Now, that is the statement I can agree with :). No matter how many modernist ingredients you add to an apple martini! I can stand behind @weinoo martini in his avatar.

Chef John Besh resigns after 25 women claim sexual harassment
chefmd replied to a topic in Restaurant Life
I, for one, "hope there's no truth to it" and/or "I wish it wasn't true." I ate at August and food was amazing. I read about Besh's involvement in the community and he did so much for New Orleans. Most of us human beings are very complex creatures and may be saints and sinners at the same time. Please note that I am a woman so do not accuse me of sexism. And what happened to innocent until proven guilty? Lets wait for the final verdict. Sometimes a person steps down due to his/her prominent position when accusations are made for the sake of their business. If women (or men) were harmed, I am sorry for them. I am also sorry for his family who has to be in public eye during personal crisis times. -
I want to make bread and pizza at home and enjoy quality end product. I do not have significant expertise and appreciate every short cut or scientific input that makes it easier for me. I am sure that experienced professional bakers in bona fide certified traditional old fashioned bakeries/pizzerias will continue to do things their way. I just want to be able to make something amazing at home!

Riesling is always on my shopping list, I prefer the dry variety. Trader Joe is currently selling Emma Reichart Dry Riesling for 4.99 and I like it. Will probably like it carbonated much better...

A Super Upsetting Cookbook About Sandwiches is 1.99.

It is one of my favorite dishes of all time! I used it as inspiration. The pieces that I made are small, 1-2 bites. Bread was cut very thin and toasted in CSO. Crunchy bread, luxurious pate, very fresh tuna make an amazing explosion of flavor and texture in your mouth. Of course it is not as refined as Le Bernardin version. @JoNorvelleWalker I did not use the book for this one (although I bought Kindle version for 1.99). Sorry to hear that recipe is not in the book but it is more of a genius combination of the fine ingredients than an actual recipe.

Forgot to give credit to @Anna N. I used her pot in pot polenta cooking method in IP. I will never cook polenta any other way again!

29 dollars US kindle edition is pricey but hopefully it will get a little cheaper at some point. About 10 years ago i was driving my son to University of Vermont. We stopped in NYC for couple of days and had dinner at WD 50. I ordered wine pairing with tasting menu and asked if I can allow my son to have some of it (as a reference to his age). The answer was: it's enough to share. We shared indeed. The food was exciting and like nothing I have ever tasted before.
