I fried some tails and a few oysters--had a few fresh, too. Crawfish boudin, mac and cheese and spinach on the side.

@Smithy I wish I could help with your questions. This whole topic and especially your fried avocados have me obsessing and wanting. Unfortunately around here, good ones are hard to come by. Last time I was in the big city grocery store I was was actually embarrassed for them. I wondered how a grocer could leave out piles of completely mushy avocados--like some even had a touch of mold. Ick. When I do find some that aren't like that, they are hard as a rock --those are way better than mush, though. If I ever go to a place like California that has fresh, good ones, I'll bet it will blow my mind. Like the difference between my garden tomatoes and store bought.

I haven't had any problems like that so far.

I got this for Christmas and I really like it. Hands free, just place on the can and push the button. Two caveats: I don't open a ton of cans, and I've only had it since December.

It's Fat Tuesday tomorrow! I ordered some goodies from this really great place in Louisiana. No live crawfish yet, so I had to settle for frozen tails. I think I'll fry those up tomorrow night.....maybe some crawfish boudin to go with and some oysters.

Norm, your lasagna looks delicious--as does everything above me. I bought some hot Italian sausage so I made some ravioli and sauce a few days ago More roast beef on a pretzel bun this time with some onion soup to dip in and some fries Hot wings and more fries with a salad And last night I SV'd a pork loin

Did a corned beef in the crock pot yesterday. Realized my crock pot bit the dust at around 6:30 last night. The beef had been in for almost 10 hours and was still not done. Hurray for the Instant Pot! Made a bit of gravy out of a cup of the broth from the beef and about a cup of buttermilk and some grainy mustard. Cheese and tomato toasties Melted potatoes to go with

Noooooo, it's shipped. A total splurge. A guilty pleasure. I sit for way too long perusing all the Murray's cheese online.

Tried a new cheese day before yesterday Good. Runny. Truffle-y. Then I fried up some chicken quarters Last night RG black beans , chicken taco salads and cheddar stuffed poblanos

Bought some burrata cheese the other day. Cut up some campari tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic ...not too bad. Would be much better with garden tomatoes. And, it was pizza night. Canadian bacon.

Roast beef sandwiches on pretzel buns and dark chocolate pudding. Had a bit of dutch cocoa powder to use up and those raspberries were calling my name at the grocery store.

Here's the cheese I was thinking of--maybe different than you're talking about @rotuts

I can't remember who it was either that mentioned that cheese...was it @blue_dolphin on the Trader Joe's thread? I jotted the name of the cheese down, though, because I wanted to look for it yesterday. They didn't carry it. I think the name of the cheese is Rubius?

We have been on a seafood kick. Oysters again along with some fried cod. Macaroni and cheese and some spinach to go with. Yesterday I had to venture out on my own to the big city which included the grocery store. Always dangerous to let me loose in there by myself. They have a fancy cheese section.....unfortunately it's filled with mostly, well, not boring, but nothing edgy or different. You know what I mean? But, still, it's fun to peruse. Right away I spied a huge round thing that looked exactly like a cantaloupe. Hmmmm...this looked interesting. It was Mimolette cheese . I looked at the price of a pound of it and was kind of surprised. I rooted around until I found a small piece. It was .25 lb. I just had to try it. It looked so interesting and I really had to see what $24 a pound cheese tastes like 🤣 It was good. Like a hard, sharp cheddar. Wouldn't spend that much for it again, though. But it was fun to try. On to dinner. I had some crab leftover from the other night (I know, weird right?) so I made ravioli and a light cream sauce.

I can't serve kale. My dishes are all allergic to it.

😒 You guys are ruining my blame game.

Anna and Rotuts made me buy this rice mold. It's not my fault.

Sorry, just now saw this! A very trashy version of broccoli and cheese casserole using cream of mushroom soup and smashed up potato chips for topping.

I totally have thought about using ahi tuna...if I can unearth any from the freezer, that will happen someday. 😁I haven't been an innovative anything for many many years so I'll take that lol. 🤣 I swear these "sandwiches" are helping me use up a lot of lonely lunchmeat. Don't be surprised if you see a thinly sliced hotdog in there soon.
