🤣 I'll take her share--it all looks DELICIOUS! I hope your mom gets better soon (((hugs))) Like I said yesterday, I wasn't going to mess around with the luck thing--we need all the help we can get! The only thing close to greens that I had were brussel sprouts--I figure that counts. Along with those, Rancho Gordo black eyed peas with Bentons hocks--I did the hocks for a hour in the IP before I did the peas. SO good and tender. Fried chicken and pasta salad to go with (noodles =luck lol).

Happy New Year!!!! I hope every one had a great NYE. We never go anywhere--and I like it that way. Can't get a DUI going from the kitchen to the bedroom (well, not normally, anyway). On to the food. This is venison stew that I made the night before (2018 thread is closed so I'm posting here) For NYE we wanted a bit of everything.... Deviled eggs and pimento cheese Salad Oysters Shrimp Excellent cheese Boudin balls And foie gras Now, I'm off to google all the lucky foods you're supposed to eat on New Year's Day. I already have my Rancho Gordo black eyed peas soaking. After the year we had last year, I'm not taking any chances in the luck dept lol.

Mucinex saved my life last January when I had it. Like others, I had a couple days that I thought I wasn't going to make it. It was over 3 weeks before I felt like a human again. I hope you feel better ASAP. Chicken gizzards with gravy (and a bit of ketchup for me). Leftover cheesy hash browns and salad to go with.

We seasoned ours last week--I can't remember how many high heat/flax oil repeats we did. At least 6...probably 8? Anyway, we've done eggs--both scrambled and sunny side up. They slide around like a dream. Do be prepared to also scrub the heck out of them before seasoning.

😁We normally wouldn't have any leftover crab, either but I made an extra leg and hoarded it --been wanting that ravioli for a long time.

Holy cow, I'm definitely undercharging around here.

I guess mine yesterday would have been called a grape sandwich 🤣

True about the pepperoni. I have pepperoni on my brain because I was just reading about West Virginia pepperoni rolls. I bet salami or pepperoni would be good with that olive salad that goes on muffulettas......... Ok, ok....I'll stop with the pepperoni

Probably would work. How about pepperoni?

I got a big tube of Flex Glue in my stocking...that will have to suffice. -

It's funny.....without any coordination or hint dropping, my mom and step dad and Ronnie and I all seem to coordinate and Christmas becomes The Christmas Of......(fill in the blank) This year Christmas is The Year of Knives and Fire Ronnie got me two knife sharpeners that I've been needing.....Santa (me) got him a couple of Wusthof knives for us (me lol). And my mom and step dad got us two GORGEOUS knives--one is Messermeister by Virgina Boys Kitchens and the other a Kessaku! Then I got Ronnie the Bison fire starter--and he got me the torch. Many things will be cut and set on fire in the coming days.....- 179 replies

Thank you! So easy and so great to have in the freezer. Here is the thread discussing them . I've taken quite a few short cuts and they are still wonderful. Lay out puff pastry, make a log out of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage. Place at the bottom of the square of puff pastry, roll it up, slice into portions and freeze. I place them on a cookie sheet and throw it in the freezer. Next day put them in a ziplock freezer bag. To bake, take them out, place them on a cookie sheet (or I use the pan that came with my CSO) on a piece of parchment paper. 350F for about 20-25 mins.

Not fancy at all, but good. Spray your slow cooker very very well with non-stick cooking spray. 30 oz bag of frozen shredded potatoes 24 oz container of sour cream 4 cups of shredded cheddar, divided Salt and pepper Mix potatoes, sour cream, s and p and 3 cups of cheddar. Place in slow cooker on high for about 3 1/2 hours (mine took 4 and could've gone longer). When done add remaining cup of cheese on top and let melt then serve.

I promise. Ronnie shot it Saturday.

Had Ronnie's kids and grandkids over to do our Christmas. Most years we do it Christmas Eve day with a brunch. Cookies, snack mix, veggie dip in a bread bowl, cranberry jalapeño jelly over cream cheese, crock pot cheesy potatoes, french toast casserole and scrambled eggs.

Could you share your recipe? Do they take a long time? My Grammy used to make those. I liked them.

I don't seem to be planning evening meals very well--that happens when I feel stressed about the holidays lol. Anyway, I discovered we were completely out of shrimp and that won't do. I ordered from Pike's Place. Got some lovely salmon So we had that (oh the skin was soooo good....nice and crispy) with pasta and crusty bread Last night for the beginning of winter we had oysters and a seafood stew of sorts.

These are gorgeous. I know how much hard work it is. I used to do them for special customers at work. That's a job I'm glad to be rid of lol.
