My step-daughter had a billy goat for a couple of years. He was a pill....and he didn't smell too good, but she sure loved him!
-
Did you enjoy the goat? I've never eaten it, either.

Oh Kay it's STUNNING!!!! You will have such fun putzing around in there. I just LOVE it!

Sure! I used frozen peas that I ran under water in a strainer. I don't care for canned peas......I suppose you could use them, but I'd think they would be too mushy. After peas were thawed, I threw them in the bowl with small cubes of sharp cheddar cheese, mayo, a pinch of sugar, a splash of vinegar, salt and pepper, thinly sliced or chopped white onion (I like red better, but I didn't have any so white onion had to do). And that's it! I was too lazy that night, but adding diced hard boiled eggs and bacon is really good in there too.

Thanks so much! And thank you so much too! That makes me feel a bit better. You are an experienced baker! I have one of those tube pans...maybe I should retire the bundt pan for good. I'm not sure that I've ever had success getting a cake out in one piece!

I NEED one of these egg plates. Do you remember where it's from? Have I asked you this before? I unearthed some tuna steaks during the great freezer clean out...a bit past their prime, but decent enough with a little sauce made from jalapeño, soy, lime, ginger, a pinch of sugar and a bit of oil. Sweet and sour tofu and egg rolls to go with. Ronnie found a 4 lb prime rib for a decent price, so that was Easter dinner last night. Done in the CSO at 200F until it hit 125F in the center (about 2 hours). Then rested for about 30 mins and after that put in on broil at 500F for 10 minutes. See? I need an egg plate. Pickled stuff Pea salad Wish I'd had some asparagus from the garden, but not enough yet. So, lettuce salad had to suffice. Annnnnnnd this is why I'm not a baker. I wanted pound cake to go with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert. First of all, maybe this recipe is for a different kind of pound cake than I'm used to, but it was more like yellow cake. It tasted good, just not like the pound cake I was thinking of. Second of all, even with all of my buttering and flouring of the bundt cake pan, this happened: Oh well, still was a good dessert

I don't know that you're looking for different ice cream recipes, but I thought I'd share this one: Buttered Popcorn Ice Cream My mom introduced me to it and it's a big time favorite of ours. I've never tried it with the Cracker Jacks.

Me too!

No one knows for sure Last but not least (the second one had me stumped for a minute)

Yes. Peeled and wrapped in saran wrap. I honestly was going to try @Smithy's deep fried avocados but life got in the way.

After the freezer thaw debacle, I once again thanked the person that invented sous vide for home use and the person that got me started doing it. I was so tired so I threw some beef steaks in the water bath. Saved me from a lot of cooking and I don't think I could have fit them in the downstairs freezer lol. Next night was oysters and fried shrimp and frog legs Last night I couldn't resist picking the 8 spears of asparagus that were up in the garden....not enough as a veggie side so I blanched them and threw them into the marinated mushroom jar for a few hours. Venison meatballs and spaghetti to go with.

So the bottom of the cup would stick out of the hole underneath? (why am I getting myself involved in this 🤣)

LOL me too! Ronnie is out tinkering with the broken freezer.....wouldn't it be fun for that one to start working again and then we'd have TWO. However, we have no space for two..... I suppose we could put one in the bedroom.... Then again, how can you ever trust a freezer again after it's betrayed you like mine did?

I'm definitely going to move some of it out to the new one.....for sure that top shelf needs to be reduced because of the dang ice that builds up in there. But I'm not moving all of it!

A forced purge happened yesterday. I went out out night before last to get some venison burger out of the chest freezer in the garage so I could make a lasagna yesterday. I had a perplexing moment when I saw that the chicken quarters that I had repackaged and put in there a few days ago were not all the way frozen. Everything else still hard as a rock, though...and since it was already like 6:30 pm I decided to put something heavy on top of the freezer and check it early in the morning. Maybe the seal on the freezer hadn't sealed for some reason? I crossed my fingers and woke up a million times all night long wanting to go check it, but I refrained until 6:15 the next morning. Chicken was even more thawed out. Oh crap. And, Ronnie was out of town. So, I did what had to be done. We have a stand up freezer in the basement that I cleaned out first----it gets ice that builds up on the ceiling and the next two shelves. So, I used my heat gun to thaw that out...took like 2 1/2 hours. I got rid of several older than dirt containers of goodness knows what. And, a bag of popsicles was sacrificed and so were several containers of broth. I came to realize yesterday that I am a broth hoarder. Anyway, I can't tell you how many trips from the basement, up sixteen stairs, through the kitchen and out to the garage and back that I made carrying as much frozen stuff as I could in a laundry basket. I started at about 6:30 in the morning and didn't get done until about 3 that afternoon. Today I feel like I've been run over by a semi I'm so sore. I can't believe I was able to fit all of the chest freezer into the upright. We didn't lose any meat to spoilage or anything. Thankfully. I'm so glad I decided to make lasagna otherwise I would have never known that the great thaw was happening. Here is the aftermath and the newly packed and organized downstairs freezer: And, by the way, after all of that, the lasagna did not get made lol. I'm off to buy a new freezer!

Had to google Arrack. Does it taste like coconut?

Just a note: I made sushi last night and used one of the frozen halves of avocado that have been in my freezer for like a month now. A tiny bit more mushy than fresh, but still very much able to cut into slices.

Been having a huge sushi craving. So, I made some last night. Salmon, crispy salmon skin and avocado. For those that have been reading the avocado cook off thread, the avocado I used was from the freezer. It was great! A tiny bit more mushy than fresh, but still very much able to cut it into wedges. I don't know if crispy salmon skin in sushi is a thing, but I love fish skin. Took the skin off the salmon while it was still a bit frozen, threw it in a hot skillet with some butter, then cut into strips.

Just took a walk around the gardens. Asparagus is up! Be ready to eat in a few days. I can't wait. Also up are some potatoes and many many onions.

Here in Kansas, they are so expensive that I'll scrape the mold off, throw in some green food coloring and call it guacamole.
