I started going to Assi Plaza Asian Mkt in Lansdale, Pa specifically cause they carried Hana Brand Pickled Ginger. Hana brand did not have Aspartame. I had 8 jars in my fridge for years and finally finished it and needed to buy some more so imagine my shock when I went to buy more recently and it now contains Aspartame! UGH! What to do, what to do! I was able to find Roland Brand on Amazon that was made with SUGAR, and bought the 8 pack. Im kind of annoyed at all these companies because its not mentioned on the jar front and there are people with PKU who can get very ill if they consume aspartame. I had a school mate who died after someone tricked him into eating something with it in it! Can we start a petition or something? Are there any brands besides Rolands that are pink and dont contain Aspartame? TY

Apna Bazaar located in 2812 Audubon Village Drive in Audubon, Pa (610-635-1550) Is a JAM PACKED, Clean well stocked new Indian Pakistani grocery store in the burbs. It has so so much for a suburban market, many many frigerator and freezer sections PACKED with many different selections. Fresh Veg, big spice aisle, housewares etc. Check it out.

So my Aussie friend told me about MUSK STICKS candy. Its basically soft pink Twizzler shaped sticks of candy that taste like Jovan Musk perfume. Or an old ladys purse or Patchouli. I strangely like them. Is there musk flavoring for cakes and cookies in Australia? Who likes Musk Sticks besides me?

Well these people know I grew up in the food biz and that my mom is a prizewinning cook (several of her winners have been ideas I gave her) so they shouldnt have "wondered". And yes Im very hurt.

Unfortunately it sayt out for 5 hours at the party, so I had to toss it all out.

Ive known these people for 5-6 years now.

I was supposed to go to a Potluck party today. It was planned in advance and I decided to bring some Asian food. I ordered Kaffir lime leaves and went to the Asian market yesterday for ingredients. I made Thai shrimp salad with FRESH grated coconut, kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass http://i30.tinypic.com/v8ev5l.jpg Gajinamul Springrolls (2 layers) http://i29.tinypic.com/2ishx0i.jpg And ChapChae and Crab Pancakes http://i27.tinypic.com/2ex3r0m.jpg Despite there being 65 people at this party, only 2-1/2 spring rolls were eaten, NONE of the Gajinamul, 1 cup of the shrimp salad, 2 crab pancakes and 1/8 the chapchae. Everyone else brought dip, heavy mayo salads, or deserts youd think theyd want something light like those pretty Springrolls. WhAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? I dont live in North Dakota. I live on the Main Line suburbs of Philly, none of this should be WEIRD food to people. Anyone else have issues with people not "getting it"?
