  1. I cleaned out my cabinets today.. I threw out 10 plastic pitchers, a bloomin onion maker and numerous other items. I also discovered a fugly gold plated 11 piece silverware set I dont recall buying. ugh. I also had to toss half of a Salton popcorn popper (the rest was not found) and the "push guards" of an also missing deli slicer.

  3. The dishwasher really means nothing... Its the detergent... My dishwasher was $150.00 and cleaned sparkling dishes, until they removed Phosphates from the detergents.

  5. Hi Ive tried making Korean Ox Bone Soup 2 times, this time its not white either. What am I doing wrong? I soaked them in water 2 hours today, theyve been boiling now for 7 hours. Do you think my aluminum pot is doing it? Or hard water? Its just barely cloudy-ish.... Help me please.

    Cheese-making

I went and got this topic to ask a question... My home has some molds from a damp basement. Can I NOT make cured or hard cheeses now? Wont the bad molds infect the cheese?
  13. I thought of this, as well. Here's a link to Daisy's web site and the recipe "Spicy Pineapple Vinegar "(click). You could easily omit the habeñeros or substitute a milder chile pepper. I will be trying this the next time I have a pineapple. I had already discarded the skins when this came up. I still have a few habaneros from last garden season in the freezer so it will be a perfect showcase I think. Its freaking addictive you can almost drink it!
  14. Pierogi? The reason people eat chocolate is its decadence...Its fatty richness and sweetness together. Somehow when you add ORANGE to it, your tongue can no longer perceive that rich fatty cocoa butter. To me, it also makes the bitterness of the chocolate more ACRID
  15. Its also not the oldest chocolate factory in the USA. That distinction goes to the delicious and higher quality Ashers Chocolate Factory in Souderton, Pa Its 1 yr older.

  23. Im eating my way thru all the Cooking With Dog Youtube videos and I got most of the ingredients to make Hiyajiru except Myoga Ginger. Im a stickler for "first time authenticity" I must make the recipe the exact way they make it in Japan the first time, so I know how its supposed to taste. I do not believe Ive ever seen Myoga Ginger in any of my local Asian Mkts. What does it taste like? What is a near perfect substitution? I have access to Galengal... Heres the video to the Hiyajiru Thanks for all who answer
  24. Okay a few years ago a famous actress was interviewed in a magazine and she said her Mother was a horrible cook. But the only thing her mother made that was any good was this casserole... They printed the recipe at the end of the interview and it had like 2 cans of Franco American Spaghetti, a can of water chestnuts, I think ground beef and cheese a few other things, baked in the oven for 1 hour. I actually made it and strangely I wanna make it again... Anyone remember this interview? I know its a long shot! Anyone else have a Mom who cant cook but has ONE great recipe?
