Okay, Im sorry, I posted the above last night while I was half asleep. So I looked on Amazon for any kind of "portable water softener"....
There are three kinds
1) a ball type that you put on the top rack http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003FFJZ3A/
2) a electronic type which threads over your pipes that electrostatically treats the water in the pipes http://www.amazon.com/Eddy-Electronic-Water-Descaler-Alternative/dp/B003Z96GR4/
3) a portable type that uses salt that hooks to your water line via a hose (two sizes house and RV) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0050EF894/
Does anyone have any of these? Even with illegal detergents my dishes dont get all the way clean so Im looking for alternatives

Last Sunday he read a viewer letter that someone had wrote, who told him that "Chris Kimball shouldnt be on the show, cause he does nothing"

In 1979, my Mother got a copy of the Pillsbury Kitchen Cookbook...I recall making the Zesty BBQ Sauce and thinking it was delicious. Thats 36 yrs ago and
I made it today and it was so nasty. How could it be so yummy in 1979 and so awful in 2015?

Well Ive been buying Illegal detergents and their efficacy has been declining and I think my dishwasher (3 yrs old) is being destroyed with this horribly hard water.
I think Im gonna wash it in a whole bottle of CLR

When Inulin is used as a sweetener in a low carb treat I have the awful stomach issues..

Honestly? Im an adventurous eater (except when it comes to goat products) but one of my top ten most favorite foods ever is the BLACK WALNUT LAYER CAKE from Shady Maple Farmers Market in East Earl, Pa....Its just a plain white cake with chopped black walnuts in it, plain white frosting dusted with more chopped black walnuts.

But the entire reason (FOR ME) to eat them is as a lower carb tater sub. If the inulin gets converted to fructose, wouldnt that raise the carbs too?

Beano is good only for certain carbs, those with alpha galactoside carbohydrates...eg beans. Inulin is different, so it ought not to work with J-chokes

2 yrs ago the delicious nut free nut substitute Wheatnuts and Bowlbys Bits were removed from the market and people with nut allergies
were left crunchless...
Well the new company that bought the rights and recipes is offering them to the public in many varieties...
