Two Summer Tortes for tomorrow - apricot and blueberry

Friend from down south showed up with my mail and some niagara fruit - so tonight I shall be making the Summer Torte with apricots. We decided to repeat the Little Italy tonight with the Northern Harvest - curious to see the difference with the smoother than Rittenhouse - enjoyed the smoothness! Max's top blade steak - sous vide 24 hours then on the BGE - you could cut it with a fork.

discovered when I went to put together last night that I didn't have any rolled oats for the oatmeal muffins with blueberries. So did the fine cooking bakeshop muffins with blueberries

Blueberry buckle X2 - one for us, one for work. Finally got the cream siphon to do it's job - brought one up that I found at VV's for $3.99 - neglected to notice it was missing a gasket.

Little Italy again - rye this time. Added the orange rind when we got to the living room and realized it was MIA Beans and toast for me - TJ's giant baked beans in tomato sauce

Actually blueberries don't grow on Manitoulin - they do on the out islands and the mainland. Soil is too alkaline due to the stone.

Look what showed up at my house at 10 pm. 4 liters of wild blueberries picked by one the nurse's sons. Staff that were supposed to be finished at 8 are just leaving now. Apparently my emerg karma is still holding - I had a civilized day yesterday - today 3 patients requiring intubation and transport out - one by Ornge helicopter, a second by fixed wing and a third by ambulance. Did I mention I had a civilized day yesterday? The poor doc working today is on holiday and decided it wasn't fair that he didn't cover his shifts in the ER this month so he took this shift in the middle of his holidays.

This was a request from one of the child's sitters. So most of it will probably exit the house. I have used it in 'not cinnamon rolls' before to good effect.
