  2. Arthritis? Or was this the question constructed about gout?
  3. I have such a dislike for the word shrimps.. Written is bad, but when spoken, it takes on a whole new level of uncomfort.. Granted, if they make good shrimps, I am going back

    Steak at home

For me, with a basic kitchen, no backyard, I throw the steak on a screaming hot cast iron grill.. If its a big steak, I finish off in the oven using an internal probe that beeps at 130.. Here is a rib eye.. Sliced: But, I wish I had a hot ass charcoal grill..
  5. Yikes, I too have made these things while working at a summer time Sub Shop.. I wouldnt eat tuna salad if you paid me..

    Lunch! (2003-2012)

Made Buffalo Wings... Bought the wings, cut them with a pair of scissors, had them frying on the range in minutes.. Tossed them in Hooters Wing Sauce I purchased after discovering it on some random trip.. There sauce tastes like its a few pumps of Movie Butter combined with a Cayenned Frank's Hot Sauce ..
  10. Enjoying your blog..Is that a tree squirrel or a chipmunk.. If it doesnt come on a plate and if it aint a rat, my animal knowledge is limited..

    grilled half lamb

Hello ATram, Wow.. What a great first post.. Where are you writing from? Where is the "parrilla" located.. Is this in your kitchen or outside? Is this your only oven source? It really such a pretty way to cook..What kind of wood do you use for your fire..
  12. My big thing is in the service.. I hate when people try to take plates off the table when people are still eating.. Its especially rude at a table of two..

    Showcasing Bacon

I wanna do something with bacon wrapped bananas.. Think i would have to freeze the banana before wrapping in bacon and frying? Maybe dip the bananas into toffee afterward, then maybe dip into chocolate after that.. Or do a banana bacon bread pudding.. Top with pecans and bacon in a bourbon sugar sauce.. And a caramel sauce drizzled around for posterity..
  17. Thanks Rachel, Your party sounds like its going to be lovely.. And grits and eggs sounds great.. Cant wait to hear more about the party! I really love triple cream on bread.. When we are up at the lake we have Explorateur on bagels sometime, with a spread of some great fish.. Once you start putting cheese on bagels, cream cheese is not missed.. Today, I used some French cheese which started with a V..
  18. Toasted white bread spread thick with a triple cream..To drink, an adult coffee.. Saturdays are good..

  21. Daniel I think you've gotten to close to the subject here to be objective. First, you attack a guy up thread because he didn't like the food as much as you thought he should. Now you go after the Star Ledger reviewer without knowing for sure how many times he visited the restaurant. I've been to Front St. twice and had a good experience both times. I'd emphasize experience here because each time some of the food has been less than great. The BBQ itself has always been good but the side items need some work. I think Bruce will iron out the kinks over time and he's the kind of restaurant owner who really wants to please his customers. I think Bruce and his wife being such good hosts is reason enough to keep coming back but it wouldn't surprise me if the guy from the munchmobile got soggy sweet potato fries even when he ate in the restaurant. So take a deep breath and try to talk up the positive things about Front St. and stop worrying if everyone doesn't share whole heartedly in your enthusiasm. ← I dont appreciate your advice or your implications.. I didnt attack poster up thread.. I pointed out errors in the post.. For the record, I have never received one thing for free from Front Street Smokehouse... So please dont feel obligated to point anything out to me.. If the reviewer did take everything to go, its a HUGE DEAL that he ommited it from his review.. Thats all I was saying... And please dont respond again because I am done with this conversation with you.. Go bait someone else into a fight.
  22. Miracle Whip was the staple of all the kids' lunches where I grew up (Cincinnati). Mayo it isn't; it's a 'sandwich spread.' It's white and pretty sweet. I didn't have real mayonnaise until I was in my early 20s, and that's no lie. As for the sandwich construction: you leave one slice of bread dry because that's the slice the tomato goes next to! ← FFB, I normally put the mayo on the tomato side because the oily mayo forms a shield, protecting the bread from the juice of the tomato.. But I am starting to like the idea of doubling up on the mayo..

    KFC Famous Bowls

They should do for an extra 50 cents they make it a bread bowl.. And they could use a super starchy egg bread...

    KFC Famous Bowls

When I saw this on T.V I was impressed..I was thinking to myself, this thing is going to be huge.. I have no desire to eat it, but its a smart idea.. Its kind of like what I used to feed my dog. I would do a bottom layer of rice, then vegetables, then meat on top...Then cover the whole thing with either the meat juice or water.. America is going to love this thing..
