  1. Great.. I have to take a look at this.. Thank you.. Do you think you could roll the mango and sticky rice into an inside outside roll and coat the outside in pistachio or some other nut.. Or maybe the toasted sesame seed ludja suggested?Maybe use Vietnamese Spring soft roll paper..
  2. (As long as there arent any New Englanders around)That might be good on a lobster roll..
  3. Breaking off this topic for a second.. Which I have nothing to add in terms of Miracle Whip.. However, I must go out to get it ASAP! You guys have really convinced or maybe hypnotized me that I at least need to try it.. But Market, I must tell you, the PDutch in me is skeptical about any type of Lebanon bologna sandwich besides one with butter and smashed chips in it.. I have seen cream cheese or mustard... Or even it rolled with cream cheese.. But thats it, now I am very intrigued..
  4. Oh, I got so excited when I read this post.. I thought someone was posting a question on suggestions? What a great idea, I would love to see like a tomalley ravioli in a lobster sauce, or a white fish ravioli in a Creamy Tomalley Sauce... Or like baked clams or lobsters stuffed with Tomalley,or in a gratin.. mmm.. What did this article say, it was bad for you or something?
  5. Ok... Just to follow up on my previous posts.. Went there this weekend and I must say.. TJ'S is an absolute horror of a place.. I am not speaking for all them nationwide, just the one in Manhattan.. It is so crowded, there is no room to move, the stuff has been grabbed off the shelves and looks incredibly sloppy.. The line was easily 20 minutes. It felt like some wierd flea market in there.. The food is not my style.. When I eat, I eat meals.. I am not a snacker.. The place just seems like a whole place for snacks and things I have no use for.. The meat is frozen as is the fish.. I noticed that the prices on the frozen fish were good, but still frozen.. Being in New York affords someone the luxury of shopping whenever they want.. If I had a house in the woods and was planning on being isolated for a long time, I could see its benefits, maybe..
  6. I have a bottle of tabasco and salt in my briefcase...
  7. Very interesting.. I wouldnt even think that could happen.. When I attempt this, I will be sure to discuss with the fish guy...
  8. Yeh Shal, That doesnt look bad at all.. I recently saw Alton Brown do something cool with a Salmon.. I have never cooked a salmon steak before, so I dont know if this is common.. He folded in one of the ends and wrapped the other one around it.. Then he tied the whole thing with butcher string, making it into them into toranados.. I am not a fan of salmon, but want to cook it this way just to try it..
  9. Did you get to eat these guys.. How were the prepared, how do them come served.. Shell or no shell. How did they taste.. They look really sweet... Do they have that fat resevoir in the head that shrimp do? How much were they? They all have this pathetic "please dont eat me face"
  10. Ok.. well now I would like to ask for someone's exact recipe, please..
  11. I agree, Sethro.... "Bad for you does not equate to a bad eating experience." Not one bit..
  12. For me, I dislike it.. Besides spareribs, or an eggroll, the rest I dont care for.. Its over fried, over sauced food IMO.. I have had it in the "best of places" I have it served behind bullet proof glass... I have eaten Chinese Food from a street vendor in Xiamen, to a white glove restaurant in Hong Kong.. I would rather have healthier food and spend less money by eating a Big Mac then I would eating American Chinese Food..
  13. I have never eaten here.. But have brought some sides home.. I cant say anything about there Chinese Food, but they make a real nice garlicky yuca.. Not as good as homemade, but when walking back from Citarella, it works.. There Maduras , plantanos are good there... I am not someone who eats American Chinese Food, but a ribs, egg roll, rice and beans, yuca meal, would work for me..
  14. Wow.. its that easy. Cant wait to try it tomorrow..
  15. What recipe are you using.. I just got these mangos sent to me house and this sounds perfect..This might be different.. A mango sticky rice sushi roll.. Take sweet sticky rice and fill with mango or sugared mango.. Covered with a mango coulis.. If there is a way I can throw bacon in there, it will be found..

Haha.. Thanks Bryan.. Yeh, it was a tough morning.. Then I went to bed.. I would like to retry the eel thing sober... It might just be a good combo..Poached egg, grilled scallions, smoked eel, and something else.. Or maybe like a smoked eel mashed potato sandwich or something": Or smoked eel potato skins..

This beauty was actually not the dream I thought it was.. The tale tell says were very apparent.. A fried egg left in the pan, an opened jar of mayo sitting out on the counter, beer bottles and an empty jar that was once filled with tequila and pineapples, various kitchen implements covered in grease and cheese scattered about.. WW English Muffin..Wow my head hurts... I think this was fried eggs with bacon, smoked gouda, fried watercress, tomato, avacado, and good old mayo.. Time eaten was after 2 before 6.. I know at one point I also maked a smoked eel, egg, tomato, bacon and lettuce sandwich.. But no good pictures..
  19. I just bought some yesteday at Mistuwa, the cheapest piece was 18 bucks... Good in a Bloody Mary too..
  20. Had left over crab meat going to waste.. Decided to make a "healthier"/ lazy version of Crab Sardou.. I left out the bernaise and the artichoke.. Basically made a cream spinach using bechamel, some cream, shallots and a shot of chives.. Placed on a plate and top with crab meat heated in clarified butter.. While the crab was cooking I added some white and black pepper, lemon, and a little creole mustard.. Served with an Grain English Muffin..It was really so good... Quick version of Sardou.. Bite:
  21. Oh wait, I am sorry.. I thought this was a dessert thread.. Ling, thats more then amazing.. Such a good combo and for breakfast too.. What a great way to start the day.. Talk about a reason to have wine with breakfast..
  22. Wow.. That looks great, Ling..
  23. I was thinking the same thing.. Dipped Italian Beef.. Oh baby..
  24. Wow, that looks all types of terrible.. Sorry that your meal was bad, hopefully you have saved another person from having to go there.
