There's an organ meat restaurant (yakitori-style) I'm anxious to try in Osaka next time I'm traveling there, but for now my search is limited to North America!

Anyone with recommendations of any restaurants specializing in organ meats in Vancouver or Richmond? Or, short of that, any organ meat dishes at a particular restaurant that has blown you away? Not looking for high-end dining, but all suggestions welcome - especially Chinese food. Thanks!

[For example, Szechuan Chef in Seattle (actually Bellevue) has an amazing dish that has pork blood and intestines, fish, tofu, and vegetables in a fiery red broth that is simply incredible!]

Tall order for Vancouver  I'm looking forward to seeng the comments n this thread with anticipation. Yo're most likely have to go to Sean Heather's Irish Heather (Irish breakfast has black and white pudding) or possibly his new "Salt" which may have meats made from an interesting combination of internals. I know Rob Feenie has offered some in the past. Unfortunately we do not have a St. John's here so best of luck.

Cheers,

Stephen Bonner

Don Lentendre can do a mean dishes with organ meats- I am not sure where he is at?

Adam Busby and Michael Allemeir both did wonders with organ meats but both are no longer in Van.

Try giving Zakushi a call. It is located on Denman. I haven't been there for a while, but if my memory serves me correctly they do a variety of yakitori including organ meat ones. They are from Okinawa I believe.

Additionally many of the local Vietnamese places have various organ meats available. Check out the area on Kingsway and explore the various Vietnamese restaurants/cafes and I bet you turn up some winners.

Additionally several of the Korean BBQs have various organ meats available. The area on Kingsway out in Burnaby has several that would be worth exploring.

Just some thoughts.....

Cheers!

I think Szechwan Restaurant (on Saba Road, Richmond) has a similar dish that has pork blood and tripe in a hot pot.
