I'm in. Where are we going? If Tommy's on/near Delaware, it occurs to me that the Ritz-Carlton has one truly wonderful Sunday brunch. Opinions? Time?

Me, I vote for the joyride every time.

i'll not be available for playtime until 3-ish, or maybe slightly later. so brunch for me would probably not work. i'll be at the Air & Water show before then. that's all i know, as it's all i've been told. :biggrn:

i hope to see you all then.

what is the Air and Water show? I'm in Chicago this weekend and someone has mentioned it to me.

Chicago Air & Water Show (via City of Chicago web page). Metromix has just the facts.

If you are close to downtown/streeterville area, you can hear the jets scream today and Friday as they do there practice runs. There goes one now, lol.

thank you tommy for a great afternoon/evening. my belly still hurts from all the laughing (maybe the beers had something to do with it  ).

i still can't figure out what was going on with that greased floor. it was fun sliding down the handicapped ramp though.

i forgot to give you your pickles  . thanks for reminding me pro()nnie  .

Any details or photos to share?

i remember a busboy taking a photo ( i think i do  ) of us and the 8 things we ordered (for 4 people), which was WAY too much food. i did enjoy the leftovers for lunch today though .

We started out at the bar at Greek Islands. tommy met us there and Adoxograph followed shortly thereafter. We ate a little bit, drank a quite a bit.

Then, we headed to Nuevo Leon, with a stop beforehand at the infamous "Cerveza Fria" on 18th Street.:cool:

We ordered WAY too much food, 5 entrees and 4 appetizers for the 4 of us. It was all fantastic but--dare I say it--doggie bags were requested  After that, being a 'school night,' the party faded into the evening as various 'drop offs' were made.

I do have a pic of the 4 of us, taken by the waiter, but I'll have to wait until later to post it.

Thanks again, tommy. It was a pleasure to meet and 'hang out' with you.

At Greek Islands...

taramousalata (w/ bread)

grilled octopus

At Nuevo Leon...

home-made corn and flour tortillas

some sort of pork and (pinto?) bean amuse (I kid you not)

guacamole

queso panela (grilled plank of cheese covered in tomatoes and grilled veggies)

queso and chorizo

tacos de carne asada

guisado de puerco

some sort of lengua dish

pollo en mole

one other beef entree.

I'm sure guajolote can fill in the blanks.

Tommy's blond?

My worldview is shaken. I have thought all this time that I was reading a brunette's words. (No, seriously, nice to put a face to the name.)

Hey, who in the hell leaves a full bowl of guacamole?
