The great thing about barbeque is that when you get hungry 3 hours later....you can lick your fingers

The nicest hotels in NorthEAST NJ are

Marriott Glenpointe, Teaneck

Hilton, Woodcliff Lake.

Sheraton Crossroads, Mahwah.

These are the top hotels in this part of town... They are also the pricey-ist, I don't know what your parameters are. There are about two dozen less luxurious choices at lower cost in the area.

It is the Marriot Glenpointe, Teaneck. Clinton Inn, Tenefly might be able to do something. I am not endorsing either of these places but they are options. I would also checkout Circa at the Ramada Inn in Rochelle Park I know they have a new years eve party.

If you want a nice hotel, nothing in NJ beats the Hilton Short Hills, imo...

"I'm not eating it...my tongue is just looking at it!" --My then-3.5 year-old niece, who was NOT eating a piece of gum

"Wow--this is a fancy restaurant! They keep bringing us more water and we didn't even ask for it!" --My 5.75 year-old niece, about Bread Bar

"He's jumped the flounder, as you might say."

Short Hills Hilton would be my #1 choice (only from word of mouth...),

followed by Park Ridge Marriott - which I adore and have stayed and swam alot in!

then, Pearl River Hilton (It looks like an english palace and has a fine pool & hot tub I use it 2-3 x a week!)

or the Woodcliff Lake Hilton which is in a gorgeous area but is a tiny bit dated and also has a nice pool and hot tub like the park ridge marriott and the other hilton(s). (Ok, so I'm a snob, don't kill me ok? lol!)

ALSO - anyone know any nice places to have an intimate pre-new years eve supper with my husband preferably NORTHERN Bergen County PLEASE! My 2nd choice is that newer Bistro in Ridgewood

or (taking a chance) Highlawn Pavilion in the Oranges if I want to take my life in my hands with the drunks on the roads (which I'd rather not do at all)!

I love Cafe Matisse in Rutherford. It's small, romantic and intimate and the food is wonderful. I'm not from the area so I don't know if it's in northern Bergen but it is worth the trip if it isn't too far from you. It's byo but there is a wine shop located in the front of the restaurant.
