What's the matter with this location?

I don't think it is the location. When the food and service are good people will seek out a restaurant even in the most unlikely places. As for Jon & Louie's. I ate there twice and once the food was good and the service was horrible. The next time the food was awful and the service was good. This restaurant also asked us to wait at the bar when the restaurant was half full and we had a reservation. When they saw that we weren't going to order a drink they sat us.

NEW DEVELOPMENT IN WOODCLIFF LAKE -- passed by the restaurant at Kinderkamack and Prospect today and saw a sign for Blue Moon Mexican Cafe (also in Englewood & Wyckoff).  What's the scoop on this restaurant?

I was not impressed with Blue Moon in Englewood. Not much better than a Chi-Chi's in my opinion.

i'm glad this was brought up.  i was actually thinking of going there.  not much mexican/tex-mex around north jersey ('cept the big chains).  i'll give it second thoughts now.

I agree w/Jason with regard to Blue Moon. It was really hard to understand why it was so crowded. I'm curious about Mexicali Blues in Teaneck, has anyone been there? Jason's posted about it before, but La Posada in Teaneck is very good (although we haven't tried the Tex-Mex stuff there like tacos & burritos, just the mole & other sauteed dishes). Excellent Spanish food too.

Um, boy, I know about the Guilty Pleasure thread, so maybe I will have to admit to Blue Moon in Englewood.  See, I have to work in Englewood several evenings a season, and Blue Moon has been a fairly regular.   Pomador, It's Greek, Baumgart's and the Turkish place, Tarabya, have all gotten money from me.  When time is short, and you want to fill your belly and not spend a lot, Blue Moon is OK.  Some decent beers:  Equus, Bohemia, Tecate.  I haven't got to Wild Ginger yet.
