Here's a Google search for "chile pepper seeds":

Chile Pepper Seeds

Here's a seed company that was in the "Links" page at Chile Pepper Magazine's website:

B & T World Seeds

It's not a well designed site but seemed to have a lot to offer. For example, type "Bird Pepper" in the search engine and you'll get some hot hits.

Type in "Capsicum" and you should get a list with most of the peppers they have to sell.

I have not ordered from either site so I can't vouch for them.

If you need a primer on growing peppers, Chile Pepper Magazine had some suggestions: Growing Peppers

As the article states, if starting from seeds, you need about 8 to 10 weeks to grow the seedlings before you have something you can plant successfully.

Regarding seeds, my brother, the cheap chile head, is infamous for dipping his hand into the dried chile bins at the supermarkets to get the seeds at the bin bottoms. :hmmm:

It's not the best way to start out growing the best peppers but he's grown some scorchers from such seeds.

“Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'

Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.”

Fimbul,

The Fatalii sounds exactly like the type of pepper I am looking for.  Where did you get your plants/seeds?  Thank you for the advice on the rainbows, Jason.  Thats all I need to hear to know their not the direction I want to go.

Er... these cats, I think. A couple down the page.

If you're curious, this here's a nice bit of geekery about the whole Chinense clan.

Ediot: I guess I'm seconding the recommendation of tomatogrowers.com. FWIW, My girlfriend and I have ordered from them several years running with no complaints. GF's father turned us onto them after he'd been ordering from them for awhile himself.

I'm located in middle Ohio, just north of Dayton.  Is there any particular variety of cayenne you prefer?  I'm looking at placing an order at Reimer seeds.

Use this site to check up on garden mail order companies

Garden Watchdog (the link above) shows that people have had some bad experiences with Reimer. I wouldn't use them. Go with some of the other suggestions.

I love cold Dinty Moore beef stew. It is like dog food! And I am like a dog.

Chile Woman

No affiliation. Highly recommended by everyone on the Chileheads list. Huge variety, beautiful plants, and helpful notes such as what is good in a container etc. Susan is located in Indiana. Minimum order of six plants ($2.50 each plus shipping).

I already have my order ready.

Cynthia,

Thanks for the great link. I have never seen plants for the mole chiles around here. Isn't it a trip we have to order from Indianana? (since we live in the chile capital of the world). I am going order Chimayo, Hatch, and for mole: Isleno Mulato, Cascabelle, Chilhuache and Pasilla plants.

Don't forget the Firery Food Show this weekend.
